PokerStars LIVE has kicked off 2024 on a grand note with the 19th edition of the Manila Super Series (MSS), which is set to run from January 2 to 9, 2024 at the PokerStars LIVE hub in Okada Manila. The latest edition promises a massive PHP 16,500,000 (~USD 296,860) in guaranteed prizepool. There are an impressive 21 trophy events with buy ins ranging from PHP 5,000 (~$90) to PHP 50,000 (~$900).
PHP 10 Million GTD MSS Main Event
While there are several exciting events to look forward, all eyes will be on the MSS Main Event, which comes with an increased guarantee of a generous PHP 10 Million (~$180,000). Featuring a PHP 20,000 (~USD 360) buy-in, the Main Event runs from January 3 to 7, 2024. Players start with a stack of 30,000 chips and 15% of the field from each qualifier will be guaranteed a piece of the pot on Day 2. The best stack format will be considered and players will be allowed to play and qualify multiple times. Day 2 will feature longer 40 minute blind levels going all the way down to the Final Day on January 7, 2024.
In addition to the staggering top prize, the MSS Main Event champion will take home a PHP 120,000 APPT Manila Main Event Package (seat and stay) taken from the prize pool. The runner up will claim a lesser PHP 45,000 entry to the Manila Megastack Main Event, which is set to run in February 2024.
Last September’s main event welcomed over a thousand runners and collected a record-breaking PHP 13,239,336 ($233,500) in prize pool, the largest ever for this event. With the guarantee bumped up more than three times, the ongoing MSS main event is expected to break all the previous records.
