The Asian Poker Tour (APT), proudly sponsored by Natural8, is set to kick off the year on a grand note with APT Taipei 2024. The eagerly anticipated series is their first event of the year and will be held from February 28 to March 10, 2024.
Main Event Features Record-Breaking $2 Million GTD
One of the standout features of the upcoming APT Taipei event is the prestigious Main Event, which is set to take place from March 3-9. This premier event boasts a record-breaking guaranteed prize pool of TWD 65 million (approximately USD 2 million), making it the biggest tournament in tour’s history.
Building on the success of the previous edition, APT Taipei 2023 Main Event (April 28 to May 7, 2023), which attracted a record 1,434 entries, the upcoming event is expected to shatter all previous records. It was Thailand’s Punnat Punsri who shipped the last edition of the main event and walked away with $ 364,315 for his grand victory. South Korea’s Soo Kim finished as the runner-up for $207,191.
Festival Will Be Hosted In Two Venues
Set to run in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club (CTP), the APT Taipei 2024 edition will be hosted across two beautiful venues in central Taipei – the CTP Asia Poker Arena, Asia’s largest poker room and the grand CML (Chinese Mahjong League). These venues are located just 1.7 km apart from each other and will offer an ideal backdrop for the upcoming festival.
Sharing his excitement and expectations from the upcoming live poker festival, APT President Neil Johnson, said, “The Main Event is just the first of several exciting announcements for APT Taipei 2024. We made history here last year and are optimistic that we will break those records again.”
While APT tournaments are a significant draw for poker players worldwide, they also attract many well-known pros from India and hence we can expect some renowned Indian pros to mark their attendance.
