In our Free Poker Hand Analysis feature, we pick up some thrilling hands from live poker events happening across the world. In our latest feature, we are featuring an insane cooler that happened during Friday Night Poker Stream at Dusk Till Dawn. The action unfolding intense hand analysis and strategy breakdowns was live-streamed on Dusk Till Dawn’s YouTube Channel on March 22, 2024.

During this Friday Night stream at UK-based casino Dusk Till Dawn, it was an epic showdown that left the viewers heart pounding. In this electrifying encounter, the stage was set with £10/£25/£50 blinds.

Losing on the river is never a good feeling and Stato must be cursing his opponent after losing with Aces on the river. The hand began with Jonathon “Skalie” Kalmar (£4.7k) making a move from the high-jack, raising to £300 with the powerful cowboys, Kh Kc. Stato (£5.6k) from the small blind looked down at his As Ad and responded with a 3-bet to £1,000, setting the way for an intense showdown.

In a bold move, Skalie then moved all-in for his remaining £3,700, putting him in jeopardy and risking it all. With no hesitation, Stato snapped and was a favorite to win the hand and claim the £9.6k pot.

Aces Vs Kings: Insane Cooler Ahead

Stato’s Aces were favorites on the 10d, 3d 6c flop and he was in good shape to win the pot. However, as it sometimes happens in poker, the rest of the streets unfolded in dramatic fashion.  The turn came as the 4c, narrowing Skalie’s options to just two outs. However, the climax came with the river card as the Ks landed on the ugly river. It was a moment of sheer disbelief for Stato and his rail, bringing an unexpected twist and leaving Stato’s heart pounding. Check out the video to watch the hand.

When pocket aces go against pocket kings preflop, aces have around an 81 percent chance of winning. Given his hand strength and position, Stato’s decision to 3-bet with pocket Aces was a standard play. Skalie also held a premium hand, so his bold move for all-in with pocket Kings was not a bad idea as he was looking to capitalize on Stato’s aggressive play. His move ultimately paid off handsomely.

Despite being a huge favorite pre-flop and even on the flop, Stato’s Aces faced a big blow on the river, showcasing  the inherent variance in poker and the importance of remaining cool and calm in the face of adversity. Stato played well but lost it on the river in an insane cooler. Hard luck for him!
