After the roaring success of the inaugural WSOP Paradise, which wrapped up with Stanislav Zegal as the WSOP Paradise Main Event champion, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) officials announced the dates for the WSOP 2024 on Friday. The 55th edition of the world’s most prestigious and longest-running event will run from May 28 to July 17 at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. This will be the third time the mega series takes place on the Strip after 16 years at the Rio Convention Center.
Reflecting on 2023’s success and commenting on the WSOP 2024, Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of WSOP, said, “There’s not much more that can be said about what a special year 2023 was for the WSOP and the game of poker. But it’s time to turn the page and begin the countdown to 2024. Records are made to be broken. We’re busy on improvements to make sure 2024 is both the biggest and best event in poker history. Mark your calendars and bank those vacation days. We’ll see you in Vegas.”
WSOP 2024 Main Event Dates
While the full and final schedule for the 55th annual WSOP edition will be released in early 2024, the tournament officials have confirmed the dates for the marquee main event. The WSOP 2024 Main Event starts on July 3 and will conclude with a champion being crowned on July 17. Retaining the traditional $10,000 buy-in, the tournament will feature four starting flights (Day 1A, 1B, 1C & 1D) running from July 3 to July 6. Players will be allowed to register on Day 2 like in previous years.
In 2023, Daniel Weinman topped the record-breaking field of 10,043 entries, winning the coveted WSOP Main Event and the $12,100,000 first-place prize. It was the largest main event in the WSOP’s 54-year history, surpassing 8,663 entries for the event in 2006. The anticipation for the 2024 event is higher than ever.
WSOP Events To Return in 2024
According to the WSOP officials, some of the events returning alongside the WSOP Main Event will include the Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship. With almost all the mainstay events shattering records at the 2023 WSOP, we can expect the return of all big events in 2024.
