World Poker Tour Returns To Jeju Shinhwa World For WPT Korea 2024

Following the success of its previous edition in Korea last July 2023, the World Poker Tour is returning to  Jeju Island, South Korea. Set to run from March 25 to April 3 happening at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, this year’s WPT Korea festival promises an exciting lineup of action-filled events spread over 10 days.

While there are several exciting events to look forward to, the series will be highlighted by the KR₩ 2.8 million buy-in Championship Event guaranteeing a staggering KR₩ 2 Billion prize pool. Players looking for affordable options to enter the event can compete in qualifying events on WPTGlobal.com.

China’s Tao Yin emerged victorious in the WPT Korea 2023 Main Event and walked away with the coveted trophy and the $229,370 top prize. The Main Event attracted an impressive 758 entries and comfortably surpassed its specified guarantee, accumulating a total prize pool of $1,700,000.

“The much-anticipated return of this thrilling event is set to electrify the atmosphere with excitement,” said Jenny Lim, Landing Entertainment Korea at Jeju Shinhwa World Chief Operating Officer. “We invite poker players from around the world to return to Jeju Island, an amazing city! And we are thrilled and delighted to host the World Poker Tour again this spring for an exciting two weeks.”

All upcoming WPT Korea events will be led by tournament director Juan de Jesus, having an extensive experience of over 20 years’s experience in handling poker tournaments at Foxwoods Resorts Casino and with World Poker Tour (WPT), World Series of Poker Circuit Events (WSOPC), European Poker Tour (EPT), and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).

The WPT Korea 2023 begins on March 25, with a KR₩ 40 million ($30,000) buy-in Super High Roller event and ends with another High Roller event with a buy-in of KR₩ 20 million ($15,000) on April 2. The side events for the upcoming festival in Korea will include Big Bounty NLH, Mystery Bounty, WPT Opener, NLH Deepstack and Jeju Dragon Quest.
