The Playground Poker Club in Montreal is gearing up to host another major international poker festival after the ongoing WSOP International Circuit. WPT is now returning to Montreal with the WPT Montreal Festival from May 9 to May 22, 2024. Here is a preview of what you can expect from the series.
Playground Poker Club Montreal has been a historical club in Poker History and for the World Poker Tour as well. Since the inaugural event in 2012, Playground Club was able to see some history being made such as crowning the first female champion of a WPT opening event, and the legendary Poker player Mike Sexton clinching his first WPT Championship at Playground.
Poker enthusiasts will be able to participate in 14 events of the Poker Festival, which is scheduled for May 9 to 22, including the prestigious Championship, the new Prime, the popular WPT500 and a Meet Up Game (MUG). The championship event is scheduled for May 16 to May 20 with live-streamd final table on May 22, while WPT Prime is scheduled to happen from May 12 to May 17 with the final table set on May 21.
The WPT Montreal Championship event
The 2024 WPT Montreal Championship event kicks off on Thursday, May 16 marking the beginning of three initial days of intense poker action. The Championship event has a guaranteed prize pool of C$2,000,000 with a buy-in of CAD$3,500. Six Finalists of the event will be determined by Monday, May 20.
The climax of the tournament will be on Wednesday, May 22 and it will be broadcast to a wider audience through Live stream. It will feature three starting flights from May 16 to May 18 and unlimited re-entries until the end of Day 1 C. All the Players navigating through the starting flights will play on Sunday, May 19, and Monday, May 20 until the final table of 6 Players is finalized.

The WPT Montreal Festival Events Highlights
The upcoming WPT Monster festival starting on May 9 promises an exciting lineup of 14 events catering to a range of players, from those seeking more affordable buy-ins to high rollers.
Affordable Buy-ins Starting at C$300
Ticket prices vary across the events, starting from C$300 and going up to C$10,500 for the High Roller tournaments. This gives a variety of options to players who are looking to win big at lower buy-ins.
Traditional WPT500 Tournament
The festival kicks off with the traditional WPT500 tournament. This event spans six initial days, providing ample opportunities for players to rejoin the action and win a big chunk from the prize pool of C$500,000.
A ticket to Prime and Championship Events
In addition to the main events, milestone qualifying satellites will be available for the WPT Prime and Championship events. Winners of the satellite events will get a ticket to the WPT Prime event and Championship Events at the WPT Montreal.
