The long-time pro Terry Fleischer emerged victorious in the 2024 Mid-Stakes Poker Tour (MSPT) Venetian Poker Bowl $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. The Las Vegas resident overcame a field of 360 entries to clinch his first MSPT title and the top prize worth $98,101. The victory marked his seventh-largest score and took his lifetime live tournament earnings to more than $2.5 million.

“It feels really good. You know, I’m getting old and only have a limited time left to do this, so I have to keep making the best of it… and I like beating up on these young guys.” Fleischer told MSPT reporters.

The main event ran over the course of three days at Venetian® Resort Las Vegas. A total of 41 players made it to the final day (Day 2) from the two starting flights. Fleischer started the final day near the bottom of counts. At one point on Day 2, he came down to an extremely short stack, but he quickly recovered to get back on track.  “It was a crazy day. I was down to just two big blinds with two tables left but was able to spin that up to 900k in 30 minutes,” said Fleischer after the victory.

By the time the final table was reached, Fleischer held the sixth largest stack among the remaining nine players. 2021 Wynn Millions main event champion Andrew Moreno started the table as the chip leader. WSOP Bracelet winner and WPT champion Dylan Linde scored the first elimination, busting Brian Kay (9th) to bring the field to eight. The next to fall was Evan Sandberg (8th) who ran his pocket jacks into the pocket aces of Gerald Cunniff. Eliminations continued with Dylan Linde (7th), Jack Corrigan (6th), Jeremy Becker (5th), and Gerald Cunniff (4th) being the next bustouts on the final table.

Down to three players, Moreno shoved on the 7h 6d 2 8d board with his 10s 7d and Fleischer made the call with 10s 9c. The 8s on the river ended Moreno’s run in 3rd place ($52,475). Following the knockout, Fleischer took more than 4:1 chip advantage into the heads-up against Stanley Weng.

On the final hand, Weng moved all-in with As 4h and Fleischer made the call with Ah Kc. The board delivered Ks 9h 2h 8d 3h, giving Fleischer top pair to win the coveted pot as well as the title.
