Czech player Robert Rohlich emerged victorious in the 2024 Eureka Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event, triumphing over 1,526 contenders at King’s Resort. His dominating final table performance  earned him the title and a career-best €243,500, the largest payout in Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov history.

Meanwhile, Ankit Ahuja from India showcased his prowess in the tournament, securing a notable fourth-place finish on the final table. The two-time Player of the Year (POY) India champion, Ahuja  earned an impressive €77,800 for his efforts. He continues to establish himself as a formidable contender in the tournament circuit. In a previous victory last October, Ahuja  had claimed the Eureka Main Event title at EPT Cyprus, securing his highest live score worth $362,365.

Following his fourth place in the main event, Ahuja took part in the € 5,000 No Limit Hold’em – Super High Roller (Event #25) where he came very close to victory, but eventually had to settle for a third place worth €8,122. Ankit now has $2,618,313 in live tournament earnings and is ranked 4th on India All-Time Money list

With his main event victory, Rohlich joins the ranks of esteemed Czech poker champions, following in the footsteps of Petr Svoboda, who secured victory in the Eureka Rozvadov 2017 edition. Rohlich overcame the final table effortlessly, wrapping up it in less than three and a half hours to win the title and seize the lion’s share of the €1,526,000 prize pool. Prior to the massive victory, Rohlich just had three recorded tournament cashes, with the most significant payout being a modest $3,779.

Rohlich started the final table with a commanding chip lead and used his chip advantage to exert pressure especially on short stacks on the final table. Stefan Fink was the first player to exit the final table after his jack-ten collided with Aram Ali’s kings. Ran Koller‘s journey ended in seventh place after he lost a flip against “Matei,” who soon fell victim to Vitalii Shcherba’s king-seven with queen-jack.

Down to the final five players, Rohlich started exerting more pressure and widening the gap between himself and his opponents. He busted Heder  in fifth place, winning with ace-nine over queen-nine.

Later, Rohlich hit a backdoor straight after Ankit Ahuja opted to check back the bottom set post-flop. The runout was disastrous for Ahuja, as he lost a significant chunk of his stack in the process. Ahuja’s dream for the main event title ended shortly thereafter, as he squared off against Rohlich’s open-ended straight draw with a middle pair. Rohlich surged ahead on the turn and completed his straight on the river.

With a commanding chip lead into heads-up, Rohlich quickly pulled ahead and claimed the title. Rohlich eliminated Shcherba from the competition before finally securing victory against Ali, securing the final three blinds with a modest eight-three against pocket fives. Following over 92 intense hands at the final table, Rohlich proudly lifted the coveted trophy, marking the pinnacle of his poker journey.
