Following their triumphant showing at the Hanoi Series of Poker (HSOP) Championship and the Vietnam International Poker Tour (VIPT), Team India continues to dominate the global poker scene. The latest triumph comes from none other than the Mumbai-based pro Nishant Sharma, who etched his name in the annals of poker history as the Poker Dream 10 Main Event champion in Vietnam.  With the victory, he became the second Indian to clinch the Poker Dream Main Event title after Zarvan Tumboli who had shipped this event in Malaysia this year in January.

The former Adda52 Colossus Main Event Champion Sharma outlasted a staggering field of 752 contenders, including Vietnam’s own Ngo Quoc Phu in a gripping heads-up battle. His victory not only secured his first-ever PokerDream title but also a whopping VND 3,756,953,000 (USD 147,720) in prize money. This remarkable win marks Sharma’s first title of 2024, following his deep runs across tournaments at Poker Dream 9 Malaysia and USOP Da Nang last month.

Adding to the spectacle, fellow Indian pro Raghav Bansal showcased his remarkable skill by reaching the final table, only to be bested by Sharma himself. Bansal shoved with Jc10d and fell to Sharma’s KdQd higher pair on the Ac9h6dQh10h board. He took home VND 1,320,900,000 for his efforts.

Sharma’s journey to victory in this poker dream main event was nothing short of remarkable. Facing stiff competition, he showcased resilience by bouncing back from adversity. He bubbled Flight F and then seized his opportunity for redemption in Flight H. With determination, he bagged the second largest stack by the end of Day 2 and dominated the final day. In a thrilling heads-up, he emerged victorious against Vietnam’s Ngo Quoc Phu (2nd for VND 2,734,647,000), clinching an ICM deal payout of VND 3,756,953,000 (USD 147,720) and the prestigious Poker Dream Main Event Trophy.

Dhaval Mudgal Emerges Victorious In Mini Main Event at Poker Dream 10 Vietnam
