Kathy Chang Wins Event 15 in WPT Rolling Thunder Series – $500 Big O

South Korea’s Kathy Chang emerged victorious in Event 15 of the March 2024 WPT Rolling Thunder Series at TVPokerRoom – $500 Big O. The tournament attracted an impressive 51 entries, generating a prize pool of $22,185, which was finally distributed among the top 8 finishers. Despite a competitive field, Chang navigated her way to the top, showcasing her top-notch poker skills and resilience.

The final table of the event began with Scotter Clark leading the way with a stack of 396,000 chips. Vincent Amayun (253,000) and Kathy Chang (231,000) were second and third in chips, respectively.

Charlie Coultas (8th – bubble-pay, $500) was the first player to be eliminated from the final table. Eliminations continued with Ramin Malekian (7th- $1,000), Monkey Joyce (6th- $,1265), and Justin Kusumowidagdo (5th $1,680) becoming the next eliminations from the final table.

It was a marathon battle among the final four participants, which ultimately ended with Chang outlasting Vincent Amayun (runner-up), Scotter Clark (3rd) and Jason Mayer (4th) to win the title.

Early on, the chip lead fluctuated, with Scotter Clark leading the final seven players. However, as the competition intensified and eliminations ensued, Chang steadily ascended, eventually securing a commanding chip lead with 500,000 chips as the final three players remained.

Despite facing formidable opponents at the table, Chang maintained her focus and determination, ultimately clinching the title and $7,240 in top prize money. This marked her first victory and the biggest score of 2024, boosting her live earnings to over $363,425.
