In the realm of poker, women are leaving an indelible mark. From Vanessa Selbst to Maria Ho, numerous females have showcased their skill and prowess on the global poker stage. Taking inspiration from these trailblazers, numerous women have entered the world of poker in recent years, and many of them have excelled at the game. Among these rising talents is Sinead Priestley, hailing from England.

If you follow British poker, you must be knowing that her stellar performance over the last 12 months has been impossible to overlook. With over 40 live cashes to her name, including multiple final table appearances and a title, she has consistently demonstrated her prowess across various tournaments.

Priestley started 2024 on a grand note and has already posted six final table finishes across various prestigious live events.  Her recent victory in the 888poker Opening Voyage event in Luton stands out as a significant milestone, where she turned £250 into £17,865. With over six final tables and plenty of deep runs in 2024, she has established herself as a rising star in England’s poker circuit.

Early Career Highlights

Priestley burst onto the live poker scene in 2014 with a series of impressive finishes at the 2014 Winter Festival in Thanet where she achieved multiple 3rd and  4th place finishes. She notched up  dozens of cashes in 2014, with a majority of them being final table finishes. Her knack for final table appearances quickly became evident, setting the stage for a promising career in poker.

Climbing The Ladder

She continued rising through the ranks in 2015 and beyond.  Dominating local tournaments, she claimed victory in five events at the 2015 Grosvenor G Casino Thanet Recurring Tournaments. She maintained her consistency and steady presence in local tournaments between 2016 to 2018 with multiple final table appearances, including a runner-up finish at the DeepStack Championship Poker Series in Las Vegas in 2018.

Shining On Global Stage

2019-2020: Priestley started venturing into larger tournaments both in the UK and the US, showcasing adaptability and skill in different settings. One of the key highlights during this time was a runner-up finish in the £170 London Deepstack, which earned her a career-best £20,000 in May 2019.

2021-2022: She continued to participate in major tournaments, including online tournaments, demonstrating versatility in various formats. She even participated in high-stakes events like the partypoker MILLIONS Online in 2021 where she made her mark with a 79th place finish for $ 13,931.

Breakthrough and Recognition

The year 2023 saw Priestley’s breakout moment, with numerous cashes in international tournaments. From the World Series of Poker Europe to the Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series, she left her mark on various prestigious international events. She finished sixth in the £550 GUKPT Cup in Leeds and followed it up with cash finishes in both the €550 Colossus and €550 Closer at the World Series of Poker Europe before putting together a deep run in the $3,300 Merit Poker Gangster Series Main Event (25th for $ 10,450).

2024: A Year of Triumphs

 Priestley has started 2024 with a bang. With a tenth place finish in the £250 Mini Main Event and a cash in the £1,250 Main Event at GUKPT Manchester followed by a fourth-place finish in the £200 Closer at UKPL Coventry, she has been demonstrating her consistency and growing poker prowess.  Her victory in the 888poker Opening Voyage event in Luton marked a significant milestone.

Looking Ahead

 As Priestley’s successes multiply, so does her potential. With her current earnings of $187,127 set to soar, she remains a force to be reckoned with. Competing in the ongoing Grosvenor UK Poker Tour – GUKPT Blackpool Leg 3, her journey continues to unfold. With each hand dealt, she inches closer to poker’s upper echelons.
