The action at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei Poker Classic is heating up as it enters its final stages. The TWD 50,000 Main Event, which drew a record-breaking 1,991 entrants, is now down to 47 players. Day 3 of the main event kicked off with 301 survivors, all battling for a slice of TWD 86,011,200 (~$2.7M) prize pool.

Singapore’s Abraham Abdulla Ceesvin leads the charge heading into Day 4 with a massive stack of 4,570,000. This puts him in pole position for the top prize of TWD 14,413,200 (~$453,430). Close behind him are Natural8 Ambassador, Eric “Six Poker” Tsai (3,765,000) and Japan’s Kosuke Miyoshi ( 3,765,000. Also in the top 10 is Germany’s WSOP bracelet winner Konstantin Held ( 2,715,000).

Starting with 301 players, Day 3 of the main event saw the elimination of 254 players. The money bubble burst during the second level of play when Thailand’s Manapat Chuchaisri knocked out Kelvin Lee, whose pocket queens were bested by Chuchaisri’s quads of sevens on the river. With Lee’s exit, all the remaining 295 players were guaranteed a minimum payout of TWD 77,000 (~$2,400).

After 7 more levels of intense poker, Day 3 came to a close with only 47 players remaining. Abraham Ceesvin bagged the largest stack of 4,570,000 (152 big blinds) and is a strong contender for the title. APT regular, Ceesvin has three APT titles to his names and is now eyeing his biggest victory yet.
