The action at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei Poker Classic is heating up as it enters its final stages. The TWD 50,000 Main Event, which drew a record-breaking 1,991 entrants, is now down to 47 players. Day 3 of the main event kicked off with 301 survivors, all battling for a slice of TWD 86,011,200 (~$2.7M) prize pool.
Singapore’s Abraham Abdulla Ceesvin leads the charge heading into Day 4 with a massive stack of 4,570,000. This puts him in pole position for the top prize of TWD 14,413,200 (~$453,430). Close behind him are Natural8 Ambassador, Eric “Six Poker” Tsai (3,765,000) and Japan’s Kosuke Miyoshi ( 3,765,000. Also in the top 10 is Germany’s WSOP bracelet winner Konstantin Held ( 2,715,000).
Starting with 301 players, Day 3 of the main event saw the elimination of 254 players. The money bubble burst during the second level of play when Thailand’s Manapat Chuchaisri knocked out Kelvin Lee, whose pocket queens were bested by Chuchaisri’s quads of sevens on the river. With Lee’s exit, all the remaining 295 players were guaranteed a minimum payout of TWD 77,000 (~$2,400).
After 7 more levels of intense poker, Day 3 came to a close with only 47 players remaining. Abraham Ceesvin bagged the largest stack of 4,570,000 (152 big blinds) and is a strong contender for the title. APT regular, Ceesvin has three APT titles to his names and is now eyeing his biggest victory yet.
Team India
From Team India, four players had made it to Day 3 of the main event and three of them managed to finish in the money. Raju Jaruplavath, who scored a final table finish in Event #64: Super Hyper Turbo – Bomb Pot, finished 146th, securing TWD 1,00,000. Saransh Garg, the Natural8 India APT Taipei – India Exclusive Tournament runner-up, exited in 190th for TWD 90,000, while Natural8 India Executive Director and Ambassador Kunal Patni finished 264th for TWD 77,000.

Women Continue To Make Waves at APT Taipei Poker Classic
While the Main Event is garnering more attention, the women at APT Taipei Poker Classic have also been making waves. Following impressive victories by Sachiko Uchihara and Tsui Han Hsiao, two more female players have secured APT titles: Hong Kong’s Man Yi Ng and Taiwan’s Hsu Fei Hsuan.
Hong Kong’s Man Yi Ng Wins Final Women’s Event of the Series
Hong Kong’s Man Yi Ng emerged victorious in the final ladies’ event for the series in Event #47: Women’s Event. Ng overcame a tough field of 137 other entrants (103 unique), pocketing TWD 137,112 (~USD 4,302) and her career-first title.
Ng went up against compatriot Iris Wong in the heads up for the title. The heads up battle was a grueling affair, but Ng pulled ahead and sealed the title. Wong took home TWD 93,000 (~$ 2,918) for second place, while local Peng Chen banked TWD 62,000 (~$1,945) as the third-place finisher.
The event paid out 20 players hailing from different countries like the USA, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Here are the payouts awarded to the final table players:

Hsuan Claims Takes Down Event #36: Women’s Event
Another female who made waves was Taiwan’s Hsu Fei Hsuan who emerged victorious in the second ladies’ event of the series, Event #36: Women’s Event. Hsuan bested a field of 132 other entrants to win her first APT title, and pocket a cool TWD 282,808 ($8,948) prize purse.
In the heads-up for the title, Hsuan was up against China’s Xuan Yang, who came close but ultimately fell in second place for a cash prize of TWD 192,000 (~$6,075). Fellow Taiwanese Mei Ning Feng finished in third place and took home TWD 125,000 ($ 3,955). The event paid out the top 17 runners, with the final table payouts listed below:
