The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #75: $1,000 Tag Team No Limit Hold’em concluded with Team Setna winning it for their first bracelet. The duo of Jimmy Setna and Jason James fought through four days of play to claim their first WSOP victory and split the top prize of $190,910. They topped the field of 1,437 teams that generated a hefty prize pool of $1,264,560.

The final day of this unique and thrilling event played down from 22 teams to a champion. While each team tried their best to win the coveted bracelet and the top $190,910 top prize, it was Team Setna that  stole the show, defeating the team Aaron Thomas – Burcu Dagli (2nd for $127,254) to claim the title.

On the third and final day, Team Thomas scored the two early eliminations, busting Team Wei and Team Brandt and increasing their stack to 1,700,000.  Team Thomas then picked up aces to send Team Cacoilo and Team Scott to the rail. Team Setna knocked out Team Perez in 10th place to take the lead into the nine handed final table.

Team Boas was the first final table casualty, losing with cowboys. They were followed by Team Exterkotter that was eliminated by Team Thomas. Recent bracelet winner Malcolm Trayner then hit the rail with Team Hall losing a coinflip. The next team to fall was Team Wheeler losing the pot to Team Ali. Team Hopkins fell to Team Setna that gained a massive chip lead into four -handed play.

Team Ali briefly took the lead but then lost most of their stack to Team Setna’s two pair. Their run ended soon at the hand of Team Setna that picked up pocket nines and held against the ace-jack of their opponent. After this hand, Team Setna held over seventy percent of the total chips in play.

Within just five hands from there, the tournament ended in just five hands. First, Team Bagin busted against James’ ace-high. Two hands later, Team Thomas exited when their king-queen couldn’t get there against Team Senta’s dominating ace-queen. Team Senta was finally crowned as the champion.

Team India

Only two Indian teams made it to Day 2 of the event. Out of the two, only Team Goindi (PokerBaazi Team Pro Abhishek Goindi and Baazi Games Co-Founder & CMO Varun Ganjoo) managed to score, finishing 128th and earning $1,052 each. This was Goindi’s second cash of the series following a cash finish in Event #64, while Ganjoo celebrated his first-ever WSOP cash. Unfortunately for Team Tumboli (Zarvan Tumboli and Premnath Kasinath), they fell short of the money, exiting early on Day 2.
