The 6th Annual Global Poker Awards by Global Poker Index concluded smoothly on February 23. The GPI awarded 39 winners during the show, including Marle Spragg, Brad Owen, the Irish Poker Open, Abbey Mark, Nikki Limo, and many more, who took home the prestigious industry award. Spraggy Couple Wins Awards & Recognition for Poker Content Creators
Power poker couple Marle Spragg and Benjamin Spragg both won GPI awards for their contributions to the poker content world. PokerStars Team Pro and streamer Marle Spragg won the award for Best Short-Form Content, while her husband, Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg, secured his second career Best Streamer award for his continued success streaming live poker on YouTube and Twitch.
PokerStars’ The Big Game on Tour won Best Episodic Poker Series at the 2025 Global Poker Awards. Another winner connected to The Big Game was Nikki Limo, a former Loose Cannon who took the poker world by storm with her stunning performance in Season 3. Limo won the Best Media Content: Short-Form Video award for her viral video, “What’s it like playing poker as a woman?”
Meanwhile, Abby Merk, who is quickly rising as a notable female poker personality, won GPI’s Rising Star in Content Creation award.
Veteran poker vlogger Brad Owen, who revolutionized the poker content world with his engaging YouTube vlogs, won the Best Vlogger award. Reflecting on his 2024 poker season, which he described as one of the toughest years in his career, Owen noted that he plans to add more non-content-related stuff to his bookshelf.
Poker Rooms and Series Receive Awards
The Irish Poker Open, the longest-running No-Limit Hold’em tournament in Europe, was awarded Best Stand-Alone Festival/Series. The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) received the Best Mid-Major Tour/Circuit award, while the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event was named Best Event at the 2025 Global Poker Awards.
Among poker venues, the iconic Playground Poker Club Montreal won Best Poker Room (Fans Choice), surpassing renowned competitors like ARIA Las Vegas and King’s Resort Rozvadov. Meanwhile, Poker at The Lodge claimed the Best Poker Live Stream (Fans Choice) award.
