Michael Mizrachi won the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event in July and collected a first prize of $10,000,000 from a field of 9,735 entries in Las Vegas. Earlier the same summer he had won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for the fourth time. It was a double few players had ever come close to.
For a player who had been a star since 2005, it was an odd sort of breakthrough. Mizrachi had nothing left to prove to other professionals. The Main Event was the one line his record did not have.
The 2025 series was played at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, the WSOP’s home on the Strip since it left the Rio in 2022. The 2010 summer also brought his first deep Main Event run. Mizrachi reached the November Nine and finished fifth. The televised final table that November was the closest he would come to the title for fifteen years.

He plays fast, with quick decisions and no visible discomfort, and he puts opponents in difficult spots without overplaying marginal hands.
