About PokerProNews and how it covers the game
PokerProNews covers live and online poker for an American audience: tournament news, player profiles, rules and strategy, and the card rooms where the game is played.
What the site covers
Four desks share the work. Poker News reports tournament results and the business and regulation stories around the game. Poker Players profiles players, from bracelet winners and high rollers to streamers. Poker Learnings explains rules, terms and strategy. Poker Rooms deals with card rooms, clubs and rake.
Where the figures come from
Tournament fields, prize pools and payouts are taken from the figures organisers publish. Career tournament earnings refer to recorded live cashes, as listed in public results databases such as The Hendon Mob, and are given with the date they were counted. Net worth figures for players are estimates, and articles say what an estimate rests on.
Dates and corrections
Every story shows the date it was published, and the date of its last update when it has been revised. Figures that change, such as a player's career earnings or a room's rake, are dated in the text. When a fact turns out to be wrong it is corrected in the article and the update date changes.
Responsible play
Poker is a game of skill and chance played for money, and losing streaks are part of it for everyone. Set a budget before you play and stop when it is gone. If gambling stops being fun, the National Council on Problem Gambling runs a confidential helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER.
