The 2024 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Phu Quoc has officially concluded and what a spectacle it was. The series drew 5,938 total entries over 78 Trophy Events to compete for a whopping VND 104,420,824,349 (~USD 4,111,055) in series prize money, making it the largest and richest APT Phu Quoc festival. Several events caught players’ eyes, with the High Rollers being some of the major highlights. In this article, we will share some recent High Roller winners of the series. Jason Lau Wins Event #67: APT High Roller
Malaysian poker pro-Jason Lau emerged victorious at the 2024 APT Phu Quoc Event #67: APT High Roller, scoring his maiden Asian Poker Title and pocketing a career-high payout of VND 2,329,880,000 (~$91,730). This victory took his career earnings, to over $340k. It was also Lau’s third career live poker title.
The VND 80,000,000 buy-in registered a total of 139 entries, which almost tripled the VND 2.5 Billion, taking the total prize pool to VND 9,707,760,000 (~$382,195). Only the top 20 players went home with a payout. The final table was formed on the final Day 2, with Nevan Chang leading the pack, followed by Indian pro-Amit Kaushik, and Lau as the mid stack.
These three players ended up beginning the three-handed play. India’s Amit Kaushik unfortunately couldn’t get past the 3rd position, collecting VND 1,043,580,000 (~$41,085). This was his third final table finish at the APT Phu Quoc. Nevan Chang ended up in the runner-up position, adding VND 1,582,360,000 (~$62,300) to his young poker resume.

Win Meng Tan Clinches Second APT Title in Event #76: High Roller – Last Chance
Win Meng Tan added his second APT Title to his poker resume, by winning Event #76: High Roller – Last Chance, claiming first-place prize money of VND 498,660,000 (~$19,626). Tan claimed his first APT title a week back in Event #6: APT Super High Roller. Tann entered the event just 10 minutes before the registration closed and navigated through a field of 42 players, on his way toward the victory.
Out of the 42 players, the final five ended up taking a prize pool from the VND 1,467,640,000 prize pool. Australia’s John Perry took second place and missed his second APT title after his victory in an earlier event at the series. Indian pro and Natural 8 director and Ambassador Kunal Patni scored another deep run, finishing 3rd for VND 220,000,000 (~USD 8,661).

Jack Richard Maris Triumphs In Event #73: Hyper Turbo – High Roller
Australia’s Jack Richard Maris, a regular on the Asian poker scene, finally claimed the prestigious Asian Poker Title in Event #73: Hyper Turbo – High Roller, adding VND 159,895,000 (~$6,296) to his earnings. It was his first poker title in the Asian poker circuit, and the win brought his earnings to $78k.
The event attracted 33 entrants, out of which the top five collected a payout. Maris defeated South Korea’s Doyeon Yoon in the heads-up, sending him out in 2nd place for VND 110,190,000 (~$4,339). Thailand’s Nontapat Wattana also made it to the podium, finishing third for a payout of VND 70,220,000 (~$2,764).

Julian-Andrew Warhurst Wins Event #49: Single-Day High Roller
Australian pro Julian-Andrew Warhurst secured his second Asian Poker title in Event #49: Single Day High Roller at the 2024 APT Phu Quoc. For his victory in the Single Day High Roller, the Aussie pro banked VND 1,053,540,000 (~$41,472), and an APT lion trophy. The win brought his career earnings up to $1 million, as he is now just $20k away from crossing the seven-figure.
The event drew 69 players, out of which the final 9 collected a payout. Eventually, Warhust won the event as he defeated Chumpon Naisanthat in a thrilling heads-up. Warhust caught pocket aces on the final hand against the deuce-seven of Naisanthat. Warhust’s hand stood out, leaving the Thailand player Naisanthat with a payout of VND 758,990,000 (~$29,870). Denmark’s Martin Godsk Stausholm made it to the three-handed play, collecting VND 493,340,000 (~$19,420).
