The 2025 PokerGo Tour’s Last Chance Series is now in its final stage with four of its six events already crowning their champions. The latest winner at the high-stakes series was crowned on Wednesday in USA’s Martin Zamani, who topped a record-setting field of 121 entries in Event #5: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em to claim the top $302,500 prize. This marked his first live poker title of 2024 and overall third PGT title of his career. Zamani now has an impressive $5,897,047 in live tournament earnings after the win.

2024 PGT Last Chance Event #5: $10,100 NLH Recap

Running at the PokerGo studio, the two-day event attracted a record field of 121 entries. This marked the biggest PGT $10k buy-in NLH tournament in history, surpassing the record of 119 entrants set  during Events #2 and #3 of the ongoing series.

The top 18 places were paid out, with Martin Zamani walking away with the lion’s share of the prize pool. Linglin Zeng (18th) was the first elimination in the money and he was followed by Nicholas Seward (17th), Darren Elias (16th), Joe Serock (15th), Joseph Cheong (14th), Shannon Shorr (13th), David Stamm (12th), Elvyn Bellosantos (11th), Neil Warren (10th), and Jeremy Becker (9th) – all falling before the final table.

Final Table Recap

The final table was reached after the elimination of Adam Hendrix in eighth place. The final seven players returned for the final day yesterday with Zamani leading them and Rania Nasreddine being second in chips. Another lady on the final table was none other than Canada’s Kristen Foxen alongside other prominent pros like Ren Lin and Chris Brewer.

Zamani started the day in style by sending Joey Weissman to the rail in seventh place when his king-nine crushed Weisman’s king-ten. Later, Zamani took a back seat but came back strongly during the four-handed play, winning a big pot from Nasreddine and snatching the chip lead from her. He then went on to extend his lead when his ace-eight managed to beat Schutten’s ace-jack, sending the latter to the rail in fourth place.

Martin Zamani continued his dominance as he eliminated Nasreddine in third place. After losing a key pot against Foxen, Nasreddine was left with two big blinds, which she put into the middle with a jack-deuce against Zamani’s seven-five. With the board bringing two sevens on the turn and river, her series debut came to an end in third place, good for $133,100.

Zamani began the heads-up battle with a 6-to-7 lead against Foxen and did not take long to seal the victory. Just two hands in, Foxen was all in with Ah 8s, which could not go there against Zamani’s As 10d. With the board helping neither player, Foxen had to settle in second place with $187,550, leaving the coveted title and the first-place prize $302,000 for Zamani.
