After a runner-up finish in the 2023 World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Liechtenstein Main Event, Switzerland player Marc Sen competed in this year’s Main Event, with only one aim of walking away with the WPT Prime Championship Trophy, and he succeeded spectacularly, winning it and walking away with a massive $248,056 and the coveted trophy along with a ticket to the 2024 WPT Championship. In August this year, Tudor Purice won the WPT Prime Cyprus Championship and Jereld Sam emerged as the champion of the WPT Prime Taiwan Championship.

The 2024 WPT Liechtenstein Main Event attracted 1,441 players across four starting flights, nearly doubling the guaranteed prize pool of $1 million to $1,663,346. The massive 1,411 field was narrowed down to 179 players advancing to day 2, with all the players getting a payout. Here is a recap of the final table of the 2024 WPT Prime Liechtenstein Main Event.

2024 WPT Prime Liechtenstein Final Table Recap

The final table was formed by the end of Day 2, with final table action kicking off on the final day. Leandro Dirlewanger held the chip lead, while Marc Sen had a middling stack. Table shorts were the first to be eliminated at the final table. Phuong Nguyen bowed out in 8th place for $30,060, followed by Milad Sheva in 7th ($38,312).

Matej Michalek, who held a moderated chip stack, couldn’t double up and soon fell victim to Leandro Dirlewanger’s pocket queens beating his A-3. He exited in 6th and collected $50,101. Dirlewanger then eliminated another table short Manfred Eberhard Frick in 5th place, narrowing the field to four players.

Nicole Frenn, who was a short stack at the beginning of the final table, doubled up to stay alive. However, Frenn’s run came to an end after he moved all-in holding Ah-7c against Sen’s pocket tens. Frenn added $86,055 to his career earnings for his 4th place, exceeding $250k in live earnings.

Another final table short who made it to the final four was Alexis Tremblay, who nearly had 10 BBs at the start but he went on to finish in 3rd place to collect a career-high score of $115,527.

After eliminating Tremblay in third place, Sen held a massive chip lead into the heads-up against Dirlewanger. The heads-up play did not last long. Dirlewanger needed a big double up to close the gap, so he moved all-in as soon as he saw Qd-8d. Sen called the all-in with Kh-9d, and the board ran out Ac-7d-3h-3c-5s, giving Sen the coveted title and the top $248k prize.

Leandro Dirlewanger finished as the runner-up, earning a six-figure sum of $156,577. Meanwhile, Marc Sen not only took the Championship trophy and prize, but he also received a $10,400 seat in the 2024 WPT World Championship.
