His first victory of the year has brought his live poker earnings past $6.5 million to ladder up on Florida’s all-time money list.

2025 PokerGo Cup Event #8: $25,200 NLH Final Table Quick Recap

The final table was formed by the end of Day 1 action. It saw Event #2 champion Joey Weissman leading the table with Zaki being the third in chip stack. The first fall of the final table was table short stack Jesse Lonis in a short stack battle against Clemen Deng. Lonis picked king-seven and went all-in, Deng, who had Lonis covered by just 50k, made the call showcasing ace-four. He connected an ace on the flop to eliminate Lonis in 7th place for a $59,000 payday.

Christian Roberts then sent Michael Berk out in 6th place with a $81,125 payday. Following the elimination, Roberts soon battled against Zaki and found himself in an all-in situation. Roberts, holding the ace queen of hearts, made the call against the jack-ten of Zaki. Unfortunately, the Venezuelan player couldn’t get past the 5th place as Zaki made two pairs on the board. He ended up collecting an impressive $110,625 payout.

Sam Soverel and Clemen Deng were the next to follow the railbirds, setting up the stage for the heads-up. Soverel collected $147,500 for his 4th place finish, whereas Deng picked $206,500 for his podium finish.

Heads-up

The heads-up kicked off with both players holding an even stack with over 70 BBs. Soon after the first hand of the heads-up play, they opted for a deal with the winner collecting $417,000 and the runner-up earning $350,000.

After the deal, Weissman led the table with a big chip advantage. However, Zaki soon doubled up through the PokerGo Cup Champion by flopping a straight with ace-ten against the pocket tens of the latter, leaving Weissman with just 9 BBs.

The final hand of the tournament saw Weissman shoved holding the king deuce and Zaki called with ten-seven. The board ran out Ah-10c-10s-6s-6c leaving no chance for Weissman to add another PGT title. Weissman earned $350,000 for his 2nd place finish and 177 points to win the series. Weissman showcased his top-notch poker play at the series, running deep in five events, including four runner-up finishes and one victory.
