Spanish superstar Adrian Mateos continues to reign supreme in Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings. After spending over 20 consecutive weeks as No. 1 on the leaderboard between November 2017 to April 2018, he has climbed back to the top. Mateos spent October in Cyprus, competing with some of the best high-stakes grinders during the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Cyprus series. The four-time WSOP bracelet winner scored five cashes, including three final table finishes. He got off to a terrific start, finishing third in a $25,000 Super High Roller Warm-Up for $198,400. He then scored another third-place finish in the $50,000 EPT Super High Roller for $555,758. He narrowly missed out on the title in $25,000 No Limit Hold’em, finishing runner-up for $258,100 in prize money.
Mateos then ended October, scoring an 11th-place finish in a $10,200 tournament for $21,100. With his latest score, he took his winnings in Cyprus to $1,043,818 and his live tournament earnings to a whopping $50,856,039.
