The first-ever revolutionary edition of DPT Grand will kick off on 22nd October and will run until the 28th of October. With the poker fever and temperatures all set to rise a notch higher at the Deltin Royale in Goa this October, let’s have a look at the last successful DPT edition held a few months back in May 2024.
The May 2024 edition of the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) was an exceptional and ground-breaking event in the Indian poker circuit. It drew top players and emerging stars alike. The standout poker series was held at the DPT home, the luxurious Deltin Royale casino in Goa. The tournament series had a wide array of events on the schedule with huge prize pools.
This edition of DPT witnessed fierce competition across various formats thanks to the overwhelming number of players that turned up amid the scourging May heat in Goa. Among the top highlights were the popular High Roller, Main Event, and Bounty tournaments.
Main Event
The Main Event, in particular, being the most anticipated event on the schedule, had everyone’s eyes fixed on who would take it down. The event saw several well-known names making deep runs, and displaying their experience and skill. It also saw new emerging faces making heads turn with their breakout performances.
The Main event was a ₹50,000 buy-in event which attracted a massive field of 597 entries who competed across four starting flights on Day 1. Eventually, 75 survivors made it to Day 2. Finally, it was Abraham Gera and Sreekanth Narayan locking horns in the heads-up. Abraham Gera finally claimed the prestigious Main Event title taking home an impressive life-changing prize of ₹47.97 Lakh.
Highroller
The DPT HighRoller was one of the series’ marquee tournaments featuring the highest buy-in of ₹1.10 Lakh. The expensive event attracted 116 entries on Day 1, out of which 65 players made it past the line to Day 2. On Day 2 the field further boosted to 157 entries, generating a massive ₹1.57 Crores prize pool. Of these, the top 20 players made it in the money with a minimum payout of ₹2.59 Lakhs.
The event was headlined by rising poker star and streamer Harsh Dev Jhirmiria, who recorded his first-ever DPT title along with a life-changing ₹34.30 Lakh paycheque. He outshined some of the biggest and most notable names in the field to finally beat Rishab Vekaria in the heads-up.
Mini Highroller
Another highlight of the series was the Mini High Roller with a buy-in of ₹35,000. Shaurya Kohli claimed his first-ever live title and took home a handsome sum of ₹13.70 Lakhs along with the title. He entered the field along with 217 eager participants on Day 1. He led the charge with the highest stack among 27 survivors who made it to day 2. Finally, he beat Sagar Raj in the heads-up to claim the title.
Mystery Bounty
Mystery Bounty event had a buy-in of ₹33,000, and attracted 214 players, all eyeing the top spot. The two-day event saw 37 players make their way to Day 2. Karan Vohra emerged victorious displaying his exceptional skill and determination. The win was extra special for Vohra, who claimed his maiden live title and first-ever DPT trophy, along with a paycheque of ₹10.70 Lakhs and ₹4.60 Lakhs in bounties for his efforts. Another highlight of his win was the fact that he beat the experienced Pocket52 Team Pro Laksh Pal Singh in the heads-up.
