The Global Poker Index (GPI) has announced nominees for its the 6th annual Global Poker Awards and PokerStars Team Pro and two-time Global Poker Award winner Caitlin Comeskey leads the nominees with nominations across four categories. She is followed by Marle Spragg and Joe Stapleton, both of whom are up for awards across three categories.
Comeskey has been nominated for four awards: Best X Personality, Best Short-Form Content Creator, Best Short-Form Video, and Peoples’ Choice for Most Entertaining Player. Comeskey is already a two-time Global Poker Award winner, having won the ‘Rising Star in Content Creation’ in 2022 and the ‘Best Short-Form Content creator award in 2023.
Marle Spragg, Joe Stapleton Are Also Up For Multiple Awards
Among other players who have been nominated in multiple categories include the likes of Spragg and Stapleton, both nominated in 3 categories.
Spragg is up for Best X Personality, Short-Form Creator, and Short-Form Video. She will be looking to defend the Best X Personality award from GPAs in 2023. Joseph Stapleton is already a two-time award winner, having won the GPA for Best Podcast in 2021 and Media Person of the Year in 2016. He has earned nods for On-Air Talent, Podcast, and Best Book this year.
Rania Nasreddine Nominated For The 2024 Breakout Player of the Year.
Rania Nasreddine made big waves as the last female standing in the 2024 EPT Barcelona Main Event where she ultimately finished 4th for $572,962. She has been nominated for her first GPI honor for Breakout Player, a category previously won by Jans Arends (Netherlands) in 2023, Angela Jordison (USA) in 2022 and Johan Guilbert in 2021. Her fellow nominees include Noel Rodriguez, Mark Travis Egbert and Boris Anzhelov Angelov.
Among others, Barry Carter, Barny Boatman, Daniel Negreanu, Nikki Limo, Content Creator Abby Merk, David Lappin, Dara O’Kearney, and the Irish Poker Open have all been nominated in two categories.The Global Poker Awards ceremony will be held live from the PokerGO Studios on February 22. The award ceremony will also honor GPI’s Player of the Year David Coleman, Mid-Major Player of the Year Han Feng, and Female Player of the Year Cherish Andrews alongside PGT’s Player of the Year Jeremy Ausmus, and Jesse Lonis.
