The Global Poker Index (GPI) update is one of the most sought-after rankings in the world of poker. It gives a comprehensive view of the current standings and performances of top poker players worldwide. The GPI takes into account player results from live tournament events happening around the globe.

Based on their results, and consistency, they are given certain GPI points that add up to rank them on the overall GPI ranking charts. The GPI rankings feature seasoned professionals as well as emerging talents, who have been consistent in their poker endeavors.

Currently leading the worldwide GPI ranking is the USA-based player Bin Weng. He sits atop the list with 4,148.94 points, dominating the charts for over 39 weeks now. He was most recently seen grinding at the World Poker Tour – WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, wherein he cashed at two events.

He started the year with a final table finish at Borgata Winter Poker OpenAtlantic City, NJ, United States, followed by shipping a title at the World Series of Poker Circuit in February for $15,272. Over the past few months, he has been consistently recording cashes and final table finishes at several poker series. He has total lifetime live poker earnings of $8,764,570.

Behind Weng on GPI global rankings is China’s Tony “Ren” Lin with 3,855.16 points to his name. Lin has been enjoying the second spot for nine weeks now. Although Lin is yet to claim a title this year, he has had many impressive finishes, most of them being final table finishes since the start of 2024. He is best known for his  PokerGO Tour U.S. Poker Open #2 victory in March 2023. Lin is undoubtedly a rising star in the world of poker having achieved great results in a relatively shorter span.

Following in is USA’s Jesse Lonis with 3,823.78 points at the third spot. At the fourth spot is United Kingdom’s renowned pro Stephen Chidwick with 3,790.94 points. Argentina’s Jose “Nacho” Ignacio Barbero follows in fifth place with 3,739.91 points.
