WPT Cambodia: Dhaval Mudgal & Shivam Shukla Make Day 2 In Mystery Bounty

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Cambodia is in full swing at the NagaWorld Integrated Resorts in Phnom Penh. The ongoing series recorded yet another impressive turnout as the highly-anticipated Mystery Bounty event attracted 532 entries across three starting days, smashing its $200k guarantee and generating $371,549 in prize pool.

Day 1 Results

Day 1A: 146 entries (19 ITM) – Chip Leader Bien Mai (862,000)

Day 1B: 207 entries (26 ITM) – Chip Leader Ngoc Anh Cao (1,183,000)

Day 1C: 179 (23 ITM) – Chip Leader Zhifan Ye (676,000)

There are many Indian pros grinding at the ongoing series, including Dhaval Mudgal, Amit Kaushik, Zarvan Tumboli, Aayush Arya, Vikaash Shah, Rajashekhar Puttamsetty, Shivam Shukla, and Chakshu Deep Raina. Currently in the spotlight are Pocket52 pro Dhaval Mudgal and Shivam Shukla, both now grinding in Day 2 of the $ 800 buy-in Mystery Bounty event. The latter began the day with a higher stack of 242,000, while the musician-turned poker pro Mudgal started his journey with 195,000 chips.

Only 68 players made it to Day 2 in the Mystery Bounty and they are all in the money. Vietnam’s Ngoc Anh Cao (1,183,000) started Day 2 as the chip leader. Trailing behind him were two fellow countrymen in Bien Mai (862,000) and Ngoc Minh Le (683,000). Since 68 players are paid out, both Mudgal and Shukla are already in the money with aspirations to chip up and reach the coveted final table.

Apart from Mudgal and Shukla, Amit Kaushik made waves in the Championship Warm Up where he finished in 12th place for an impressive $5,092. The event was finally won by Jonald Garcia from Philippines, who took home his first WPT trophy and a career-high $55,989, courtesy heads-up deal.

Talking about the ongoing WPT Cambodia 2024 tournament series, it kicked off on January 17 and will continue through January 30, 2024. The Championship event runs from January 25 to 29. The much awaited Championship event features $3,500 buy-in and a whopping guaranteed prize of $1 Million.
