PokerGO’s High Stakes Duel returned on Tuesday with sports card shop owner Jared Bleznick beating Finland’s poker legend Patrick Antonius in the thrilling High Stakes Poker Duel Opener for $100K in a four-hour battle.

All the heads-ups have been played in No-Limit Hold’em (NLH) format. Now, the organisers have come up with a new feature that will let viewers enjoy both Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) and NLH formats in the Poker gameplay.  The game was played on PokerGO which cost $50,000 per player to enter. Each received $50,000 chips and the blinds started at $100/$200. The newest edition of the game featuring PLO alternates every 10 hands and each player has the option to run it twice on an all-in bet once per round.

The High Stakes Poker duel is a heads-up competition which began in 2020 and so far 12 matches have taken place. Phil Hellmuth defeated Antonio Esfandiari three consecutive times, winning  $350,000. The 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth then defeated Daniel Negreanu in three consecutive matches and set a benchmark with his run 9-2 overall on the show. Further on High Stakes Duel 4 last year, Negreanu defeated Eric Persson in a one-off match. The high stakes heads-up match returned on Tuesday and saw two high profile players battle it out, making it a more thrilling experience.

The High Stakes Duel taking place on Tuesday was the fifth edition and it saw Patrik Antonius and Jared Bleznick pitting against each other. Patrik Antonius, a recent WSOP Hall of Famer, has been playing poker for over 20 years, and has over $29 million in live earnings. Just recently, he made headlines for winning the Triton Poker SHR Series $200k Triton Invitational, where he took home his career-high score of $5,130,000.

On the other hand, Jared Bleznick is the owner of a sports card shop in Las Vegas, who has been playing tournament poker since 2006. He has more than $7 million live earnings. Last year he won the $100K PLO Super High Roller Bowl event for $1.3 million. This summer, he took down the $50K high roller this summer at the World Series of Poker, taking home more than $2 million.

Both players put in $50,000 and played at blinds of $100/$200 in the latest high-stakes duel. Following back-and-forth battles of over 4 four hours, Jared Bleznick eventually emerged as the winner. The game ended  in NLH format. On the last hand, Bleznick opened to $2,500 with Qs 8s and Antonius called with Qh Ks. The flop came with 6c 8c Qd, giving Bleznick the lead. Facing a bet, Antonius check-raised to $6,500 and then moved all-in for $39,900. Bleznick snap-called and hit full house on the turn 8s. The river As changed nothing and just like that Bleznick won the match.
