The poker community is saddened to learn the news of the World Series of Poker Circuit Ring Winner Alexander Hill’s death, who was battling cancer.

Alexander Hill’s son Alex Kestrel revealed the news on his social media: “The poker community and his buddies meant so much to him.” Hill’s passing just came after the tragic death of his son-in-law, Nic Haug.

To support the family, Kestrel has set up a GoFundMe Page for Hill’s granddaughter, 4-year-old Mackenzie’s future. “The family asks that memorial contributions for these great men go towards Mackenzie’s future.”

Alexander Hill’s Poker Career

Alexander Hill began his poker career in 2017, with a 2nd place finish in the Mid Stakes Poker Tour Milwaukee for a staggering $60,000.

Two years later, Hill participated in his first World Series of Poker and cashed in two events, respectively, earning just nearly $5k.

In 2021, Hill made a deep run in WSOP’s $1,000 NLH Seniors Championship, earning $30,999 for a 15th-place finish. One year later, in Event #47: $1,000 NLH Seniors, Hill ended up in the final 9, scoring $67,471 for the 9th place finish.

That same year, Hill outlasted a massive field of 283, claiming his first Circuit Ring in the $400 NLH Monster Stack Event at the WSOPC Omaha/lowa series.

Despite battling cancer, Hill competed in the 2024 World Series of Poker and cashed in two events for approximately $5.4k. Hill’s total live poker earnings are $294,943.
