2023 World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship Winner Daniel Sepiol has done it again by winning WPT Alpha8 Trifecta Event 2 for his second biggest payday of $672,000. He has had a dominating run over the past six months. From December to July, he has cashed over 26 times, accumulating $6.7 million in winnings.
His impressive cash-in includes winning the massive World Poker Tour Championship at Wynn Las Vegas, where he took home $5,282,954 and secured his first WSOP bracelet in this year’s $1.5k NLHE SHOOTOUT.
The 30-year-old’s latest victory came in the second of three $25k NLHE High Rollers at the Wynn Summer Classic, aka WPT Alpha8 Trifecta. Event #2: $25,000 No Limit Hold’em draws a field of 108 entries, generating a prize pool of $2,581,200. Only the top 14 finishers took a share of the massive prize pool. Only 19 players came back for the final day 2 to fight for the top prize of $672,000. The event attracted several notable players, including four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos (13th – $48,000), 3rd place in all-time money list Stephen Chidwick (11th – $57,000), three-time bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche (10th – $67,000), 2017 Super High Roller Bowl champion Christoph Vogelsang (7th – $111,000), three-time WPT Champion David Rheem (5th – $189,000), and five-time Triton winner Mikita Badziakouski (3rd – $335,000).
Daniel Sepiol was in the middle of the pack but took the chip lead from a much-needed double-up and held it until the tournament’s final hand. The heads-up between Sepiol and Jonathan Cohen was intense and long. It lasted over 3 hours until Sepiol came out as the winner. Jonathan Cohen eventually finished as the runner-up to take his career-best payout of $450,000.
With this victory, Daniel Sepiol became one of the frontrunners to get a seat at the next WPT World Championship along with Brock Wilson, who won the first event of the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta High Rollers a few days back.
