Another players who made waves at the WSOP 2024 was Germany’s Carsten Heidemann, who took down  Event #84: $600 Ultra Stack No-Limit Hold’em on Day 44 of the ongoing series. He overcame a massive field of 6,628 entries, claiming his first-ever WSOP bracelet and a career-best $343,010. This marked the first WSOP cash for the German player who has been playing poker for over 15 years. After discussing it with his wife, he had come mainly to play the main event. While his main event journey ended on Day 1,  he must be on cloud nine to win his dream WSOP bracelet in this event.

The event ran over the course of three days and generated a prize pool of $3,380,280, with 791 players making the money . The final day saw only 19 players with  Axel Orellana on top with 57.50M chips. Heidemann started the day with just around ten big blinds, but was able to win just enough hands early, such as this one against Ricky Robinson to stick around as other players busted.

Heidemann started picking up steam at the start of the unofficial final table and won several hands, including a big pot that eliminated Lawrence Barber in tenth place. Vietnamese player Ha Duong was the first player to exit the final table and he was followed by Arnold Park in eighth place. Juan Garibaldi, Robert Szumowski,  Jason Wester, and Phuoc Nguyen exited in seventh, sixth, fifth, and fourth places. A little later, Heidemann busted Albyn Bello with his Ace-Five getting there against the K-J of Bello, who earned a career-best $170,410 for his third-place finish.

The heads-up saw Heidemann holding a massive lead over Ramana Epparla. The heads up play lasted only 15 minutes and it was a fairly smooth sailing for Heidemann. On the final hand, Epparla ran his jack-ten into the king-eight of Heidemann and lost it on the Qc Kd 7s 5d 8c board.
