On March 30, the Indonesian player Salim William emerged victorious in Event 60: Mini High Roller at the USOP Danang 2024 and walked away with VND 526,900,000 in top prize money. He eventually outlasted May Yan Anthonia Hui from Singapore who earned VND 351,300,000 as the runner-up.

Representing India in Event #60 was Amit Kaushik. The USOP Da Nang 2023 Turbo event champion exhibited his resilience and skill to secure 10th place for VND 52,800,000. His 10th place came just a day after veteran poker pro Dhaval Mudgal shipped Event 56: Mystery Rush Bounty of the series, winning India its first trophy at the series. 

USOP Danang 2024: Event #60 Mini High Roller Recap

Hosted on March 30, the USOP Danang 2024 Event #60 featured a guaranteed prize pool of VND 500,000,00 (~USD 20k) for a buy-in of VND 22,000,000 (USD 905). A total of 102 players participated in the Mini High Roller event taking the prize pool to VND 1,978,800,000 (~USD 79.8k). Out of 102 players, only 15 players made money from the prize pool.

Salim Williams outlasted 101 players to win the Mini High Roller event and clinched a prize money of VND 526,900,000 (~USD 22k). Williams recently started his poker journey, and this win is going to boost his confidence. The Indian player Amit Kaushik, who has been participating in a lot of Asian poker tournaments, was able to finish in 10th place for VND 52,800,000 (~USD 2.25k). Kaushik is the USOP Da Nang 2023 Turbo event champion, who recently made waves for his 5th place finish for $118k at the WPT Cambodia Championship Main Event.

At the USOP Danang 2024, Indian poker players are leaving their mark. A day before Kaushik’s 10th place finish in this event, Dhaval Mudgal clinched the nation’s first trophy in Event 56: Mystery Rush Bounty of the series. Additionally, WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer secured an impressive 4th place in Event #46 Super High Roller, earning INR 41 Lakhs.
