The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series (SHRS) Montenegro has delivered a spectacular week of world-class poker action, shattering records and awarding massive prizes to the champions. One of the biggest winners crowned recently at the series was Jesse Lonis, who captured his career-best score and third Triton trophy in the $100K Main Event.

Meanwhile, Triton’s most decorated player, Jason Koon, extended his legacy by winning a record-setting 11th title, and Punnat Punsri broke through in pot-limit Omaha, earning his first PLO title and fourth Triton victory overall. Here’s a quick recap of their Triton victories.

Jesse Lonis Takes Down Triton Poker SHRS Main Event

Just a few days after taking down the Mystery Bounty Event at the Triton Poker SHRS Montenegro, U.S. pro Jesse Lonis won Event #11: $100K Triton Poker SHRS Main Event.

He earned a career-best $3,446,298 paycheck, his third Triton trophy, and a luxurious Jacob & Co. watch for becoming a Main Event champion. With the victory, Lonis pushed his lifetime poker earnings past $20 million.

The $100K buy-in Triton Main Event attracted a massive 180-entry field, generating a total prize pool of $18 million, paid out to the top 31 finishers. Team India’s Santhosh Suvarna finished 7th to collect $643,000. Wai Kiat Lee finished on the podium, pocketing $1,807,000.

Heads-Up

The heads-up match was quick, as 2024 Triton Montenegro Champion Mikalai Vaskeboinikau held just 8 BBs against Lonis’s 37 BBs. After a few pots, both players struck a deal, leaving $125,000 and the trophy for the eventual winner.

The very next hand turned out to be the final one. Vaskeboinikau shoved with queen-jack of spades, and Lonis called with king-ten. The board favored Lonis, who was crowned the newest Triton Main Event Champion, defeating the reigning titleholder.

Vaskeboinikau ended up as the runner-up, locking up an impressive $2,927,702.

Jason Koon Secures His 11th Triton Title

Jason Koon extended his record as the all-time Triton title leader by claiming his 11th Triton trophy. Known for his consistent dominance on the Triton circuit, Koon captured the title in Event #12: $150K NLH 8-Handed, defeating his mentor Ben Tollerene in the heads-up.

Koon earned a seven-figure score of $3,393,656, pushing his lifetime earnings past $63 million. The $150K buy-in event drew an elite field of 108 entries, generating a $16,200,000 prize pool split among the top 17 finishers.

Poker legend Phil Ivey made a deep run, finishing 4th for $1,482,000, while Wayne Heung placed 3rd, collecting $1,790,000.

Heads-Up

Koon entered heads-up play at a chip disadvantage, holding 46 BBs to Tollerene’s 62 BBs. The two close friends agreed on an ICM deal, leaving $130,000 and the title to play for.

Despite the lead, Tollerene couldn’t maintain momentum. In the final hand, he called for his tournament life with ace-nine, only to run into Koon’s pocket sixes. The board bricked, and Jason Koon was crowned champion, claiming his record-setting 11th Triton title.

Tollerene earned $3,437,344 for his runner-up finish, while Koon took home $3,393,656.

Event #13: $25,000 PLO attracted 84 entries, generating a $2,100,000 prize pool. The small but elite field included names like Isaac Haxton, Artur Martirosyan, and Stephen Chidwick, who cashed but didn’t make deep runs. Alex Foxen ran hot but was eliminated in 3rd place, earning $251,000.
