2024 WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley Main Event Final Table Recap

The massive 812-player field was whittled down to 15 by the start of Day 3. Travis Egbert led the final 15 and maintained his momentum until the last hand. It didn’t take long for the final table to form. Michael Rossitto was the first player eliminated, finishing in 9th place and pocketing $16,875.

Colton Blomberg and Jared Smith soon followed, finishing in 8th place ($21,800) and 7th place ($28,600), respectively. Egbert scored his first knockout by eliminating Kirk Acevedo in 6th place, earning $38,380. With this elimination, Egbert extended his chip lead among the remaining four players.

Thomas Morris ran his pocket eights into Egbert’s A-9. Egbert caught a nine on the board, ending Morris’s tournament run in 5th place for $51,905. The next elimination was brutal: Brock Wilson, holding pocket aces, moved all-in, and Xiong Thao called with pocket queens. The board improved Thao’s hand, knocking out Wilson in 4th place. Wilson collected $71,070, pushing his career earnings to over $9.8 million.

Egbert further narrowed the field by eliminating Gregory Pincombe in 3rd place, who earned $100,065. Egbert held pocket nines in the hand that ended Pincombe’s tournament.

Heading into heads-up play, Egbert held 26,000,000 chips against Thao’s 6,000,000. The heads-up match lasted for five hours until Egbert emerged victorious. In the final hand, Thao limped in with Ac-8h and called Egbert’s all-in shove with Ah-10c. The board came As-Jd-2c-6d-4h, sealing Thao’s fate as the runner-up.

Thao took home $142,540 for his second-place finish, while Egbert claimed the top prize of $214,565 and his third Circuit ring.
