Hansen was all praise for his new teammates and hailed them as “the best team in the world.” With Winamax already boasting a robust lineup of talent, this latest addition is set to further elevate their profile. In the video below, Hansen expresses his potential to beat even the most seasoned No Limit Hold’em specialists. While Hansen may not consider himself among the elite in the NLH domain, his extensive experience with more than $10 million in live tournament cashes speaks volumes about him.
About Gus Hansen & His Poker Career
Talking about Hansen, he was one of the most talented poker players to emerge from the poker boom of the 2000s. Known for his aggressive playing style, the Danish phenom has more than $10 million in live tournament earnings and is currently ranked 3rd on Denmark All Time Money List.
His resume is filled with several notable results. Some of his most significant achievements include winning three WPT titles and a WSOP Europe bracelet in 2010. In 2002, he famously won the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, which was followed by the LA Poker Classic victory in 2003 and a PCA title in 2004. 2007 saw him win the Aussie Millions for AU$1.5m, which became the source material for his best-selling book ‘Every Hand Revealed.’ In 2008, Hansen finished runner-up to David Chiu in the $25,000 buy-in WPT in Las Vegas.
The year 2010 was a memorable one as he clinched his first bracelet in the Highroller Heads-up event in London. In 2013, he won a title at UK & Ireland Poker Tour. His last cash was $ 20,200, which came at WSOP 2019 Main Event for his 689th finish out of 8,569 entries.
Gus Hansen’s Return To Live Tournament Poker
Over the last few years, Hansen has kept a relatively low profile in poker especially after becoming a family man. He has been playing private cash games mostly, making the occasional appearances at live tournaments. But this is set to change after his collaboration with the Winamax team that met him during the WPT World championships last December and decided to sign a deal with him.
To the delight of his fans, it has been confirmed that he will be playing the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Monte Carlo. He will be wearing the Winamax patch, instead of the Full Tilt patch and he is set to play more poker ahead. After his EPT Monte Carlo campaign, he can be seen at the SISMIX in Marrakech and WPO Bratislava, both of which he is planning to play.
