Taiwan’s Jia Chi Lee: The Next Big Name in Women’s Poker

Jia-Chi Lee recently made headlines after becoming the first female to taste victory at  the USOP Hai Phong series. At the series, Taiwan’s Jia Chi Lee reigned victorious at the Women’s Event. Lee outlived an entry field of 29 entries including 27 unique. She took home the prize of VN₫ 70,104,000 (~US$ 2,850)as the top prize in the process. She beat Vietnam’s Thi Nga Nguyen in heads-up play to claim the title. Notably, the win marked the second USOP title of her career. 

Talking about the win, Jia-Chi Lee said, “It’s my second time to play in Vietnam. I like to play poker, so any tournament, I can go. I think Vietnam field is friendly.”

Jia-Chi Lee Recent Results 

Jia-Chi Lee was last seen grinding at the U Series of Poker – USOP Hai Phong, Hai Phong in Vietnam. She cased at a total of four events in the series including one title. Se first cashed at the ₫ 8,000,000 + 1,000,000 No Limit Hold’em – Madness Kick Off Event taking the 23rd place for a sum of $ 2,157 on 11th September 2024.

This was followed by a 4th place finish at ₫ 4,000,000 + 500,000 No Limit Hold’em – Run It Twice event on 16th September 2024, wherein she bagged $ 714. She then took down the ₫ 5,400,000 + 600,000 No Limit Hold’em – Women’s Event Entry restricted for a pay cheque of $ 2,848 on 19th September 2024.

Lastly, she finished 9th at the ₫ 2,200,000 + 300,000 No Limit Hold’em – All In Or Fold event taking home $ 236 for her efforts.

Jia-Chi Lee Overall Stats 

Jia-Chi Lee, who started playing and cashing at live poker events in 2021, has so far accumulated a total of $198,780 in live tournament earnings. Her best cash to date has been $18,302, which she pocketed at the Taiwan NT$ 8,000 No Limit Hold’em – Champion Win Big #14 event of Taiwan Millions Tournament (TMT) Season 13 held in Taipei City on 15th January 2023. She nailed the event and banked $198,780, the biggest cash of her career.

According to Hendon Mob, Jia-Chi Lee ranks 80th on the Taiwan All Time Money List with close to $200k in live earnings. 

Jia-Chi Lee’s expanding presence in high-stakes poker games has not only /leveraged her profile but is also a testament to the increasing participation of women from the Asian region in professional poker. Her consistent results and deep runs in competitive events make her one of the most promising female poker players to watch in the coming years.
