Shivam Shukla Emerges Victorious in Hyper Turbo at HSOP Championship

Indian players are making waves at the Hanoi Series of Poker (HSOP) Championship. Currently in the spotlight is Shivam Shukla who shipped  Event #11:Hyper Turbo for VND 18,700,000. He also struck gold with a jackpot of VND 138,749,000 during the Megastack Special event, hitting it big on the flop. This victory marked the second live title of 2024 for Shukla, following his Event #30: PLO Hyper Turbo victory at the 2024 WPT Cambodia in January this year. 

Another Indian garnering attention is the rising star Amit Kuashik, who has already posted three final table finishes, including a runner-up spot in Event #2: Mini High Roller 8 Max for VND 130 Million, a 6th place in Event #7: Megastack High Roller 8 Max for VND 150 Million and a 9th place in Event #9: High Roller Single Day 8 Max for VND 50.40 Million.

HSOP Championship April 2024 Main Event

Team India is also making waves in the Main Event of the HSOP Championship April 2024 with Alok Birewar qualifying for Day 2 with the second largest stack of 665,000 chips. He qualified from Day 1B that drew in a total of 203 entries and saw 25 survivors move ahead. Another Indian qualifying from Day 1B was Karan Thakker who made Day 2 with a stack of 236,000. Day 1A saw Daniyal Kazi qualify with a stack of 90K. Day 1Ad drew a total of 128 entries and saw only 16 survivors progress ahead.

The HSOP Championship April 2024 Main Event features a massive VND 2.5 Billion guarantee. The buy-in is VND 8,800,000 with a starting stack of 40K. Late registration comes to a close at the start of Level 11.

About HSOP Championship April 2024

The HSOP Championship, which began on April 12 and runs through April 21, is being hosted at the renowned Grand Loyal Poker Club. The prestigious series has several Indian contenders in attendance, including Alok Birewar, Karan Thakker, Daniyal Kazi, Jasven Saigal, and Laksh Pal Singh, in addition to Shivam Shukla and Amit Kaushik.

With just a few more days left for the series to culminate, it would be interesting to see how Indians fare at the marquee main event and other tournaments of the ongoing HSOP series.
