Alabama’s Shannon Shorr has cemented his position among the poker’s elites, winning Event #2: $10,100 no-limit hold ’em in the PokerGo Tour Last Chance for a $297,500 payout and the coveted PokerGo Cup. The 39-year-old poker pro has 23 recorded live poker victories and two World Series of Poker bracelet wins. With his latest triumph, the pro has now brought his live earnings past $14 million, making him one of the wealthiest poker players in Alabama.
The $10,100 buy-in event drew the largest field in PGT History, building up a total prize pool of $1,190,000. That substantial prize pool was paid out among the top 17 players, with the top 4 earning a six-figure sum.

Day 1 action ended with only 7 players vying for the PokerGo Cup, and the first-place prize. 2024 EPT Barcelona Main Event Winner Stephen Song entered the final table as the chip lead but quickly lost it against Shorr.
PokerGoTour regular Adam Hendrix (7th) was the first to exist after the ace queen of Joe Serock beat his pocket-fives. Chinese poker pro Ren Lin (6th) soon followed Hendrix and was eliminated in 6th place by Song. Lin ran into the ace-king with an inferior ace-jack for his first final table finish of 2025. Ben Tollerene’s impressive run ended as his ace-six ran into the straight of Serock. Tollerene finished in 5th and took home a hefty $77,450 cash.
Song’s run eventually came to an end in 4th place. Song went all-in, holding ace-eight, and Shorr made the call with king-queen. The board ran in favor of Shorr, giving him a pair of kings to clinch the remaining stack of EPT Main Event winner Stephen Song.
David Chen who in the previous year became the Youngest PGT Champ for his victory in Event #5 at the 2024 PokerMasters, had to settle for the podium finish. Chen was eliminated in 3rd place, taking home his second-largest payout of $139,900.
The head-up play begins with both Shorr and Joseph Serock holding almost an even stacks. The heads-up lasted for two hands, as Shorr easily secured the victory. The first hand of the heads-up saw Shorr taking a two-to-one chip lead. On the final hand, Serock raised to 600k with pocket fives. Shorr three-bet shoved for 4,975,000 holding Ad 6h and Serock called it off. The board ran out As Ah 8d 4s 3h to give Shorr trip aces to seal the coveted victory. Serock earned $188,450 for his runner-up finish and grew his live earnings to more than $7.2 million.

The opening event of the ongoing series, Event #1: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em, found a winner in Nick Schulman. The 40-year old pro overcame a star-studded field of overcame a field of 111 total entries and defeated Joao Simao in heads-up to claim $283,050 in top prize money.
