Reigning POY Winner Bin Weng Wins Second Ring at 2024 WSOP Pompano Beach

Bin Weng had a breakout year, earning over $6.6 million and the GPI Player of the Year title. His momentum continues into 2024 as he recently won a Circuit ring and $15,272 in Event #12: $400 No-Limit Hold’em at WSOP Circuit Pompano Beach. He overcame a field of 190 entries  to claim the title. The victory marked his first title of the year and he now has over $8,640,612 in live tournament earnings.

Weng had also won the WPT Player of the Year title for his terrific show across WPT events in 2023. The latest win marked his second WSOPC ring after a ring in the 2023 Horseshoe Vegas Main Event.

Coming back to WSOPC Event #12: $400 No-Limit Hold’em, the tournament featuring a buy-in of $400 generated $62,700 in prize pool, which was finally shared by the top 29 players. Roberto Bendeck (29th) was the first player to finish in the money and Brett Apter (10th) exited as the final table bubble.

The final table, reached during Level 20 with blinds at 10,000/20,000, was a star-studded affair and featured Bin Weng, Brett Apter, Spencer Champlin all having WSOP rings to their name already.

During the four-handed play, Tanupat Punjarojanakul held the chip lead with Bin Weng, MJ Cooper and Anderson Premdas looking to deny him his first ring. In the end, it was Weng who emerged victorious after defeating Anderson Premdas (2nd for $9,438) and took home the $15,272 prize.

The World Series of Poker Circuit’s latest stop at Harrah’s Pompano Beach in Florida had more than a dozen ring events that took place February 1-12. While WSOPC Pompano Beach stop produced several notable winners, the crowning glory of the serie was the $1,700 buy-in Main Event where Georgia’s Hamid Izadi emerged victorious, taking home $245,225 and his seventh WSOPC ring.
