2024 Big Deal for One Drop: A Celebrity Extravaganza

The Big Deal for One Drop is set to be a star-studded affair, featuring several Race Week personalities, celebrities, and a few select poker pros competing in the event. Cirque du Soleil and One Drop founder Guy Laliberté will be there to promote the One Drop initiative and the event will be kicked off by none other than the Master of Ceremonies and 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.

2024 Big Deal for One Drop Charity Goals

The WPT Foundation and One Drop are world leaders in charity poker events and have already raised more than $75 million together since 2012. Both foundations have worked together to raise awareness about climate change, making a very significant and positive impact in climate and sustainability, while laying a special focus on safe and sustainable water across regions worldwide.

As of 2024, over 2.2 billion people globally lack safe water in their homes, according to UNICEF and the World Health Organization. Resorts World Las Vegas, the WPT Foundation, and the One Drop Foundation aim to empower communities to solve the water and climate crisis through innovative, sustainable actions. Their goal is to improve the living conditions of 3 million people around the world. Since its inception, One Drop Foundation has raised funds to support and fund some life-changing water projects worldwide and has partnered with several Southern Nevada nonprofits since 2013.

“It gives us great pride to host an event with such a notable cause that resonates deeply in Las Vegas,” said Peter LaVoie, President of Resorts World Las Vegas. “Our commitment to sustainability is unwavering, and we look forward to partnering with the One Drop Foundation to further this effort while having some fun during Race Week.”

Guy Laliberté, Founder of One Drop Foundation, said, “In the past 12 years, One Drop has created iconic poker tournaments that are going to be in the big history book of poker for a long time. The Big Deal for One Drop is going to be one of those, for the fun aspect and for the people it will draw. I haven’t played poker much lately, but I really look forward to playing this one. I think the intensity of poker and adrenaline of Race Week in Las Vegas are a perfect match, especially since the funds raised will support the vital cause of safe water.”

Adam Pliska, CEO of the World Poker Tour® added, “This special event, in partnership with the One Drop Foundation and Resorts World, is certainly a not-to-be-missed event for any poker enthusiasts looking to add a fun, global impact angle to Race Week in the heart of Las Vegas.”
