Phill Hellmuth, aka the ‘Poker Brat,’ it’s not a secret that he is one of the short-tempered poker players at the table. Hellmuth has fully displayed his poker brat persona in his legendary poker career. With this persona, the 17-time WSOP bracelet winner has given some of the iconic moments in televised poker, which have now become cult classics among the community.

However, he admits that his behavior in the latest episode of ‘No Gamble No Future,’ where he slammed his mic pack on the table, cursed player Humboldt Mike, was completely out of line, and apologized for his outburst.

What was the reason behind Hellmuth slamming his mic?

Let’s take a look at the main reason behind the battle. The poker brat moved all in with his A-Q hand against Humboldt Mike’s pocket jacks. Hellmuth was ahead on the ace-seven-nine flop, but Mike secured a set with the J on the river, surpassing Hellmuth’s aces and eventually winning the hand. Check out what happened in this hand HERE!

After the hand, Hellmuth displayed sportsmanship saying, “Nice hand.” But then Mike said something that crossed the line for Hellmuth. He took a dig at the 17-time bracelet winner by making fun of his collaboration with Bitcoin Latinum.

After Mike won the hand, he said, “Phill, I have got an address if you need to send some [Bitcoin].”

Way before this hand, Mike constantly was poking fun at Hellmuth’s affiliation with Bitcoin Latinum and Ultimate Bet. In 2022, one user sued Hellmuth as the company defrauded them of $15 million.

That was the final nail in the coffin, as Hellmuth outburst and started scolding Mike, and then he stood up from his seat, took his mic off, and slammed it onto the table.

In an interview with PokerOrg, the Hall of Famer revealed that he was mad at Humboldt Mike because he started attacking his affiliation with Bitcoin companies like Bitcoin Latinum and Ultimate Bet.

“I represent more than 50 companies and have invested in 40. And not everything ends up perfect, right?” “He’s some random guy I’ve never met, and he was attacking me,” he further added.

They recorded this episode before the 2024 World Series of Poker, and Hellmuth kind of knew how the audience would react to this clip when they released it. “It crossed the line. I’m 100% guilty. It won’t happen again.”

Getting Support from PokerGo

Hellmuth revealed he immediately called PokerGo’s President, Mori Eskandani, asking him to delete the clip. Mori replied that anybody who watches will know that the guy attacked you continuously. You had asked Humboldt Mike to stop, but he didn’t.

Hellmuth recalls discussing the idea of apologizing to Mike with PokerGo staff, who strongly opposed it because of Mike’s provocation. Eventually, Hellmuth apologized for his part and they shook hands to film together.
