Paul Snead Wins Big: Bags SHRPO Championship Title, $529K, and a Guitar Trophy!

Following its run from July 31 to August 14 at the iconic Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida, the 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) wrapped up with an electrifying finale. The headliners on the grand finale were the $5,300 buy-in SHRPO Championship and the $25,500 buy-in High Roller. And as it turned out, Paul Snead emerged victorious from a field of 865 entries in the SHRPO Championship for a career best $529,428 from the $4,195,250 prize pool. He clashed with Clemen Deng in heads-up. Both players struck a deal with Deng finally walking away with $512,522 as the runner-up.

“It feels amazing, I just feel like the Hard Rock is my home turf now. I’m originally from New York and still live there and Florida now. Foxwoods used to be my home turf, but now I totally feel comfortable here and playing here. I love the way that they run tournament here, it’s just great,” said Snead after his victory in the $5,300 SHRPO Championship, the 42nd event of the series that ran from August 9-13.

Bryn Kenney Clinches 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open High Roller Title

The high roller title of the just concluded series went to Bryn Kenny, the top ranked player on poker’s all-time money list, who topped the field of 67 entries in Event #54: $25,500 High Roller to win $487,990 from the $1,654,900 prize pool. The 37-year-old bracelet winner now has over $67.3 million in career tournament earnings, having a $1,019,873 lead over second-ranked Justin Bonomo ($66,248,460).

Kenney entered heads-up play with a massive chip lead of 5.4 Million over Dan Sepiol’s 1.3 Million stack. A heads-up deal awarded Kenney the title, an impressive prize of $487,990, and the coveted SHRPO trophy.  Sepiol took home $390,810 for his remarkable runner-up finish in the tournament.

Raminder Singh Adds Record-Extending 13th SHRP title With A Side Event Win

Several big names shone brightly in the side events of the prestigious series, including two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Raminder Singh, aka “The Raminator,” who again etched his name in poker history by besting a field of 168 entries in Event #61: $300 Quad Stack Black Chip Bounty NLH of the just concluded series, clinching a record-extending 13th SHRP title and $6,730 in top prize money.

The series also saw victories from seasoned players in various other side events. Ten-time bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel emerged victorious in Event #26: $10,000 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em and took home $179,953 following a head-up deal.

Other prominent winners crowned at the series included the likes of Darryll Fish (Event #3: $600 Deep Stack Big O for $16,830), Ari Engel (Event #8: $600 Eight-Game Mix for $12,875), Phil Hui (Event #12: $600 Mixed PLO for $18,495), Javier Zarco (Event #25: $600 Deep Stack 6-Max NLHE for $19,740), and Nick Yunis (Event #29: $1,100 Deep Stack Turbo NLHE for $15,580).

Multi-Tile Winners

There were three players who stole the show by winning two titles each at the latest Seminole Hard Rock Poker (SHRP) series.  Lenard Adams won Event #11: $600 Deep Stack Turbo NLH ($9,610) and Event #41: $1,100 Deep Stack Turbo NLH ($16,770). Nick Seward claimed victories in Event #31: $1,100 Deep Stack NLH ($39,000) and Event #37: $2,200 Deep Stack NLH ($91,500), while Matthew Wolfson won Event #44: $1,100 Mixed PLO ($11,721) and Event #52: $400 Black Chip Bounty 5-Card PLO ($5,000).
