Recently, we saw the conclusion of two big tournaments, namely the 2024 WPT bestbet Scramble Main Event, and the 2024 WSOP C Elgin Main Event. Nick Yunis, a Chilean player, won the WPT Championship Title, while Jeremy Lenz, a recreational player, outlasted some of the top poker pros to win the WSOPC main event. Nick Yunis Wins 2024 World Poker Tour bestbet Scramble Championship
Chlie’s Nick Yunis triumphed in the 2024 World Poker Tour (WPT) bestbet Scramble main event, earning a career-high score of $347,850, taking home the prestigious WPT Champions trophy and first WPT Main Event title. Yunis has been competing and cashing WPT events since 2014, but made it big this year, becoming the first Chilean player to become a WPT Main Event Champion.
A total of 361 players gathered inside bestbet Jacksonville poker room, crushing the $1 million guaranteed prize pool, and building up a total prize pool of $1,642,550. Out of 361, the top 46 players shared the prize pool, with the top 4 earning a six-figure. Several notable players ran deep, including Indian-American player and bracelet winner Rajesh Vohra (41st), 2024 WPT SHRP Showdown Champion Josh Reichard (30th), 2015 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe McKeehen (17th), and many more.
The final day began with six players vying for the Mike Sexton WPT Championship, and the first prize of $315,791. Yunis outlasted them all and defeated 2024 WPT Playground Main Event Champion Yunkyu Song in the heads-up after an ICM chop. Song picked his career-best payday of $252,059, while Yunis became the first Chlie’s WPT Champion.

Jeremy Lenz Wins 2024 WSOPC Elgin Main Event
Jeremy Lenz kept the title at home, winning the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Elgin Main Event for a six-figure sum of $194,977. Lenz, a recreational player, re-started his poker career with a 27th finish in 2024 WSOP C Elgin Event #2: $600 NLH, earning $2,961. He then used that earning to compete in the $1,700 NLH WSOPC Main Event, and it paid off. With his championship victory, he has $211k in career earnings.
The $1.7k buy-in saw 757 entrants, which ended up crushing the $750k Guarantee, pushing it to $1,146,855. From the 757 entrants, 111 players got a piece from the staggering prize pool.
India’s Bhargav Kakani made it into the money and finished 25th for $6,432. But he fell short of reaching the final table.
11-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Roland Israelashvill made it to the podium, finishing 3rd to collect $88,976. But he missed the chance of adding another ring. Lenz dominated the heads-up and easily defeated pro-Cero Zuccarello. Zuccarello took home a career-best payday of $123,597., while Lenz scored his first circuit ring.
