Indian pro Nishant Sharma is making waves at the 2024 Poker Dream 13 Malaysia running inside the Genting Grand Hotel. Sharma recently won Event #14: Pot Limit Omaha, claiming his third Poker Dream title, and the first-place prize of RM 23,200 ($4,890) from the RM68,100 ( $14,360) prize pool.
He topped a tough field of pros and overcame a final table that included Chen Gengtao, Kok Chee Ngan, Loh Wei, Mah Mun Hoe Aloysius, Tan Si Han, Ho Paul Hoa Han, Ho Bao Qiang, and Tay Guangjie Ryan Timothy. The RM2,000 (~$483) buy-in PLO Event kicked off on November 18th, with levels lasting for 20 minutes and the late registration closing on Level 8. His career-best payday came in the 2018 WSOP Main Event, where he finished 34th earning a staggering $230,475. 2024 is turning out to be a breakout for the pro, as he has scored several big cashes including three live poker titles. Just a few months back, he made history by winning his second consecutive Poker Dream Main Even title.
The first of his two Main Event victories at Poker Dream came in April when he triumphed in the Poker Dream 10 Vietnam Main Event, banking a six-figure payout of $148,283. Just a few months later, he then traveled to Malaysia to compete in the Poker Dream 11 Malaysia series and managed to win the Main Event again, pocketing $183,517 and becoming the only Indian to achieve this feat. Now with this victory, he is a third-time Poker Dream champion.
