Maria Constanza Lampropulos, also known as Maria Lampropulos, is a professional poker player from Argentina, with more than $3.7 million in live tournament earnings. This highly talented poker player currently ranks 10th in Hendon mob’s Women’s all-time Money List.

Maria was born to a Greek-Argentina family in 1981. Before playing poker, Maria studied management at the University and then worked at the IBM company. She had remote work and this allowed her to travel around the world. According to the reports, she got interested in the game at the age of 30. She learned the game from her boyfriend Ivan Luca, a famous poker player. Luca played a pivotal role in Maria’s poker career, as he pushed Maria to play live tourneys. She began her poker journey by playing micro-stakes poker tournaments online. She played poker but wasn’t serious until earning a degree in business management. 

Maria Lampropulos Poker Career Highlights & Victories 

Maria’s first live cash came in 2014, but she didn’t taste victory until 2015. She scored back to back two victories in a month in 2015, she first won the 2015 Latin American Poker Tour #6: $600 NLH Turbo Freezeout, securing her first title and a top prize of $12,347, and then won the 2015 WPT Vienna #6: €220 NLH Cor $4,430. 

In 2016, Maria began her year with a 2nd place finish in the 2016 WPT Brussels Main Event and banked $75,067. In March 2016, she and Ivan Luca made it to the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event, with Luca taking the 1st place and  Maria finishing as the runner-up for a six-figure sum of $103,907. She then finished 4th in the 2016 EPT Monte Carlo #47: €200,200 NLH for $60,010. 

Maria then ended the year with a fabulous deep run finish in the 2016 WSOP International Circuit Punta del Este. She scored three final table finishes claiming her first circuit ring in Event #23: $600 NLH 6 Handed for $12,975. 2017 was a life-changing year for Maria Lampropulos. Maria rose to fame after her victory at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in the 2017 partypoker MILLIONS £5,300 NLH Event, where she secured her career high-score of $1,255,004.

She then won the 2018 PCA $10,300 Main Event, banking a massive $1,081,100. With that victory, Maria became the second female player in history to score multiple million scores in poker. It was Vanessa Selbst who scored multiple seven-figures in poker history as a female player.

She then added an 888poker LIVE trophy to her trophy case after winning the 888poker Barcelona €2,200 NLH High Roller for $62,614. In 2019, Maria came close to winning a WPT Title as she made a 5th-place finish in the WPT UK Main Event and earned $98,500. 

Just before the live poker world moved online because of the pandemic, Maria scored another six-figure score in the 2020 partypoker MILLIONS UK Main Event of $100,000 for her 8th place finish. She continued scoring deep runs and then clinched her second circuit ring in 2022 WSOP International Circuit Rozvadov #12: €1,100 Bounty Hunter, where she collected $31,861. 

It took her two years to secure another victory, as she triumphed in 2024 888poker Barcelona €2,000 High Roller for $23,727. Some of her recent cashes include a 65th place finish in the WSOP Millionaire Maker Bracelet Event for $20,940. Most recently, she notched up a 4th place finish in the 2024 EPT Barcelona €550 Women’s Event, taking home $4,471.

Maria has competed in the World Series of Poker several times but hasn’t won any bracelet so far. However, she came close to winning her first bracelet in the 2018 WSOP Europe #2: €1,650 NLH 6 Handed, where her remarkable run ended in 8th place for $9,166.

With her $3,763,555 in live earnings she currently holds the 4th place in Argentina’s all-time money list and 10th place in the Women’s all-time Money List. With her impressive track record, she is also one of the potential candidates for the 2024 Women in Poker Hall of Fame title.
