Martin Tsvetanov Wins EPT Prague Eureka Main Event
Bulgaria’s Martin Tsvetanov outlasted a record-breaking field to win the Eureka Main Event at EPT Prague, taking home the coveted PokerStars trophy and a career-high payday of €449,034*. He now brought his career earnings up to $700k for his first-ever major poker victory. The Bulgarian pro earlier this year made a cash finish in the Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov Main Event and wrapped up his year with a victory in the same tournament.
The €1,100 buy-in Eureka Main Event drew a record-breaking field of 4,732 players across six starting flights, generating a massive €4,542,720 prize pool. Out of the 4,732 entrants, 707 players ended up collecting a mini-cash of €1,770.
Richard Caridade ended up in 3rd place to collect €233,860. Caridade went all in against Tsvetanov holding pocket queens, but headed to the rail as Tsvetanov spiked his ace on the board. Before the heads-up, Tsvetanov and Gerald Karlic opted for a Heads-Up deal and played for the €19,034 additional sum and the trophy.
After a small fourth-and-back battle, Tsvetanov locked up his victory easily, eliminating Karlic in second place. On the final hand of the tournament, Karlic was forced all in blind with seven-four and Tsvetanov made the call holding jack-nine suited. Karlic paired a four on the flop but Tsvetanov found a 9h on the river to claim the title. Karlic collected €396,086* for his runner-up finish.

Jacob Hamed Ships WSOP Circuit Cherokee Main Event
Jack Hamed wins his second career Circuit ring at the World Series of Poker Circuit Cherokee Main Event, taking home a six-figure score of $299,010 and the prestigious Main Event bracelet. Just a week before his Main Event victory, Hamed claimed his maiden circuit ring in Event #11: $800 PLO, but he still wasn’t satisfied with it and concluded the series winning the Main Event. This victory has now brought his earnings past $460k.
The $1,700 buy-in main event attracted 1,288 entrants across two flights, creating a total prize pool of $1,951,320, shared among the 190 players. The final table was formed on Day 2, and they advanced to the final day to find a champion.
Johnny Price finished in 3rd place to collect $140,839. His elimination was tragic as his pocket fours got counterfeited by the jack of Vaughn Steeves. In the heads-up, Hamed led with a two-to-one chip advantage. On the final hand, Hamed shoved and Steeves called the all-in to save his tournament life. Steeves revealed his superior king-five against the jack-ten of Hamed. The dry flop ran in favor of Steeves, but the turn 10 gave Hamed the top pair to seal the victory. Steeves added a career-high payout of $199,338 to his newly opened poker resume.

Jeffrey Copeland Clinches MSPT Hollywood Casino Main Event
Jeffrey Copland outlasted 401 players to be crowned as the Mid-States Poker Tour Hollywood Casino Main Event Champion, collecting $85,871 and taking home the prestigious MSPT trophy. It was his second MSPT title of the year, after winning the MSPT $400 NLH Tag Team Championship earlier this year.
The $1,110 buy-in main event saw 402 entrants across three flights, generating a total prize pool of $388,480. The top 43 finishers ended up collecting a mini-prize of $2,245. Day 2 of the final hand formed the final hand to crown a champion.
During the three-handed play, Copeland knocked out Cody Bartlett in 3rd for $38,704 for a small chip advantage over John Ro. Copeland extended his lead for a 3:1 chip advantage over Ro. On the final hand, Ro went all-in on the flop, holding ace-nine against Copeland’s eight-six suited. Copeland had already paired his eight-six on the board for two pairs, while Ro had a backdoor flush draw. The turn brought a 2s, keeping Ro’s flush draw alive, but the Kc on the river favored Copeland. Ro earned $53,132 for his second-place finish.
