Dean Hutchinson, who made a 6th-place finish in the 2023 WSOP Main Event, was the first player to be eliminated. Hutchinson moved all-in with his pocket Q-Q against Justin Tsui’s pocket J-J. Hutchinson needed a Q on the flop, but unfortunately, he saw a Jack. Dean Hutchinson was eliminated in 9th place, taking £12,00. Hutchinson’s elimination was followed by Jai Uthira (8th – £14,350).
Craig Gibson was stack-stacked and moved the last of his stack with pockets 9-9. Andrew Wilson called it with pockets 5-5. Gibson needed a double up to stay alive, but a 5 on the turn ended his deep run, earning a career-best score of £16,750 for his 7th-place finish.
After a few hands, Wilson, who held J-10 open, shoved from the small blind, and short-stacked Maxim Fana, called the all-in with K-8. The flop was with Fana until the river card turned out to be 10. Maxim Fana was eliminated in 6th place, earning £19,300.
GUKPT veteran player Robert Boon ended his deep run in 5th place. On a crucial hand, Boon held A-9, and Tsui held J-9. The flop came out 9-K-J, unaware of Tsui’s hand, Boon moved all in. The turn and river card couldn’t save Boon, sending him out on 5th for £28,650.
After the elimination, the remaining four players struck an ICM deal to end the Main Event. Tsui was crowned as the winner as he held the final table chip lead, while Andrew Wilson finished in 2nd place for £95,000, Eliot Caterson in 3rd for £81,000, Robert Shields in 4th £78,500.
