The 2025 Won Poker Cup III is in full swing at Cambodia’s favorite coastal destination, Sihanoukville. Running from May 14 to 21, 2025, the ongoing third edition of the series features an impressive line up of 22 events and guarantees a massive US$ 880,000, with the US$ 1,320 buy-in main event featuring a mighty guarantee of US$ 600,000. The festival has already crowned several big winners with Vietnam’s Hoang Hai Nam clinching Event#9- W High Roller for $78,681- the biggest prize awarded so far.

Abhijith Cheruku Wins 2025 WON POKER CUP III Single Day High Roller

Team India is making a strong impact at the 2025 Won Poker Cup III edition with two Indians Abhijith Cheruku and Neeraj Gajria already claiming victories for India. Cashing live events since 2020, Cheruku overcame a tough field of 21 entries in Even #4 – Single Day Highroller, claiming his first Won Poker Cup title and a massive $17,967 from the $42,777 total prize pool, which was eventually distributed amongst the top 4 finishers.

Cheruku is no stranger to scoring cashes in high rollers, as he had also scored big at the WPT Cambodia last year when he finished runner-up in the Mini High Roller for over $51K – which remains his career best score to date.
The latest victory comes on the heels of Abhijith Cheruku’s deep run in the recent APPT Cambodia Main Event where he finished 31st for $ 4,724 out of the 643 entry-field. It marks his career-first live title and the best live score of 2025, bringing his total live earnings to over $113k. Notably, this was also his highest score at the Won Poker Cup, surpassing his previous best $ 6,500 that he earned for 13th place finish last year in the Won Poker Cup $1,100 No Limit Hold’em here in Cambodia – by far one of his favourite destinations where he has been cashing live events since 2023.
Vineet Kumar & Neeraj Gajria Among Other Indians Making Waves
Among other players who are making waves at the ongoing Won Poker Cup in Cambodia include veteran poker pro Vineek Kumar and Neeraj Gajria. Kumar has already cashed two events in the ongoing series, including a runner-up finish for $2,115 in Event #6 – Hyper Turbo ($270) and a 26th place for $1000 in Event #5 -Mystery Bounty of the series.
Speaking of Neeraj Gajria, he did not cash any major event but shone brightly in the satellite main event where defeated a competitive field of 31 entries to win a seat to the ongoing $1,320 buy-in main event where he has already qualified for Day 2 with a stack of 62,000 from Day 1A. Among other Indians to qualify for Day 2 of the Main Event include Vineet Kumar (short stacked) and the Single Day High Roller champion Abhijith Cheruku with a massive stack of 208,000 chips.
The Main Event features four flights, with Day 2 slated for May 20 and the winner to be crowned on May 21, 2025. With four flights done and dusted, the Main Event has entered Day 2, which is currently underway.
