Amidst the intense competition and international stars competing for glory, it is Team India making the loudest noise early on – thanks to Avadh Shahâs back-to-back wins.
While Vietnamâs Quang Minh Nguyen made headlines by conquering a tough 122-entry field in the Super High Roller to bank a whopping TWD 9,230,920 (~USD 283K) along with the iconic Pewter Lion Trophy, Indiaâs very own Avadh Shah emerged victorious in Event #29: NL Holdâem â Big Bounty – claiming second victory for Team India in just two days.
April 26 â Avadh Shah Wins Natural8 India x APT Taipei Exclusive
On just the second day of the APT Taipei 2025, April 26, Avadh Shah claimed the spotlight by winning the âNatural8 India x APT Taipei Exclusiveâ event and kicking off things for India in style.
The event featured a massive âš15,88,400 (~USD 18,615) prize pool and APT Main Event tickets for the top four finishers, sponsored by Natural8 India. With a commanding chip lead at the final table, Shah leveraged his advantage and clinched the title.
In the final hand, Shah’s A-Q outshone his opponent’s A-5 on a Queen-high board, earning him the coveted victory, âš3.09 Lakhs (~USD 3,632), the iconic APT trophy, and an APT Main Event seat.
April 27 â Avadh Shah Strikes Again To Win the NLH Big Bounty
Avadh Shah was not done yet. Not resting on his laurels, he returned the very next day and clinched a thumping victory in Event #29: NL Hold’em â Big Bounty, making it a week to remember at the APT Taipei 2025.

Shah, who secured his career-best live score of $6,806 at the 11K Warmup Event of the Deltin Poker Tournament in 2022, overcame a massive 173-entry field (157 unique) to secure his second APT trophy in just two days and setting an inspiring benchmark for the Indian contingent.
The second win earned him a career-high TWD 689,900 (USD 21,289), plus TWD 120,000 (USD 3,704) in bounty prizes. With back-to-back wins, Shah has nearly doubled his previous live earnings, boosting his total live tournament winnings to around $44k.
Shah eventually clashed against Australiaâs Andrew Hosok Han in the heads-up. The latter could not go all the way and had to settle in second place for TWD 650,500 (USD 20,079) and TWD 85,000 (USD 2,623) in bounties. Taiwanâs Shang Chuan Wu took the final spot on the podium, claiming TWD 335,000 (USD 10,340) and TWD 30,000 (USD 926) from bounties.Â
