The 2024 World Poker Tour Prime Voyage Championship with a $500k guaranteed prize pool and a $1,100 buy-in, which attracted an impressive 968 players, resulting in the guaranteed amount to reach a $968,000 in the final prize pool. The Brazilian player Gregory De Faria emerged victorious, securing the title and a massive $155,400 in top prize money.It was the biggest live tournament score for De Faria, as his previous win was just under $4,000.
Event#7 $1,100 NLH WPT Prime Voyage Recap
The event had three starting flights from April 1 to April 3. Players who survived these flights returned on April 4 to compete for the coveted title. A total of 122 players were able to advance to Day 2, each guaranteed a payout of at least $2,000.
Many well-known players made deep runs in this event, with Princess Love Finishing 61st, Calvin Anderson in 55th place, Dylan Wilkerson in 21st place, Jesse Sylvia in 19th place, and Darren Rabinowitz finishing in 10th Place falling before the coveted final table.

Ryan Riess, the 2013 WSOP Bracelet Winner and the 2017 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown winner, was eliminated in 9th place and earned $14,600 after his A-2 hand couldn’t beat Nico Betbese’s K-J. Lukas Zaskodny finished in eighth place for $18,500 after losing a preflop race. De Faria’s King-High straight beat Gustavo Carmona’s queen-high straight. Carmona was eliminated in 7th place and earned $24,000.
Brandon Takao was able to eliminate one player, reducing the field to five players. Takao’s A-7 suited beat Allison Hollander’s K-Q, eliminating him in 6th place for $31,000. Brian Monigold was eliminated in 5th place for $41,000. Takao wasn’t able to last longer at the final table as he got eliminated by Trent Hopper’s Pocket Queens. Takao finished in 4th place for $54,000.
Down to three-handed play, De Faria faced off against Betbesse and his A-J went on to beat Betbese’s K-J. Betbese was eliminated in 3rd place with a prize money of $72,000. By eliminating Betbese in third place, De Faria retook the lead, heading into the heads-up match.
In the final hand, De Faria and Hopper went all-in. De Faria held Qh-9h against Hopper’s Ks-6c. The board ran with three hearts, giving Faria a flush to win the title. De Faria secured the victory as well his biggest-ever live earnings. Hopper received $97,000 as the runner-up finisher.
