There are players who have over the years toiled and practiced for years to make a name for themselves in the world of poker. And then there are players who are relatively new to the game but manage to make headlines with their overnight victories. These players through their sheer determination and passion for the beautiful game prove that they are indeed the rising stars in the world of poker.

Recently, a Czech Republic-based player, Robert Rohlich, achieved a similar feat to create history and send ripples across the poker world telling everyone that he is one of the emerging talents to look out for in the space. Robert recently defeated a field of 1,526 contenders in the highly contested 2024 Eureka Rozvadov Main Event at King’s Resort to win a whopping €243,500.

Making History and Moving Up The Ranks

With this, Robert created history by grabbing the largest payout in Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov’s history. Prior to the historic win, Robert had just three recorded live tournament cashes under his belt, with the biggest payout being a modest $3,779.

Apart from the fact that Robert claimed a record-breaking prize for his recent Main Event finish, what made his victory even more special and inspiring is his journey in the event. Robert entered the event through a modest €16.50 satellite event. With his skill and determination, he gradually made his way to the final day of the Main Event and eventually to the final table before claiming that top spot.

Beginning with a satellite, Roberts successfully turned his €16.50  investment into a monumental €243,500 payday. Rohlich’s victory shattered the record for the largest-ever payout awarded at the Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov.

Rohlich navigated his way through a massive 1,526-player field to effortlessly wrap up the final table in less than three and a half hours. With his win, he grabbed the lion’s share of the total €1,526,000 prize pool.

Past Accolades

Prior to his recent record-shattering win, Robert has had a modest history of playing live poker tournaments since 2018. Although he has just three cashes prior to this, all of them are among the top 20.

His first recorded cash is his 18th-place finish at the Czech Poker Championship Main Event in Prague back in 2018 for $1,615. His next cash came in 2022 at Polish Poker Masters, Kosice wherein he finished 13th for $ 2,044 at the No-Limit Hold’em event.

Recent Achievements of Robert Rohlich

After a two-year-long hiatus, he recently finished runner-up at the No Limit Hold’em – Half Million Micro High Roller event at the Go4Games Hodolany poker series held in February 2024 in Olomouc. He grabbed his previous highest of $3,779 from this finish.

After shipping the 2024the latest 2024 Eureka Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event title, Robert’s total lifetime earnings stand at $273,823. It also takes him to the 62nd spot on the Czech Republic’s All Time Money List. He also collected 396.32 GPI points to raise his rank to 114th on the Czech Republic’s GPI Ranking. Given his recent form, he is poised to make waves in the live poker arena and is definitely a player to watch out for in 2024.

Notably, back in October 2023, Indian pro Ankit Ahuja claimed victory success in the Eureka Main Event at EPT Cyprus, wherein he won his biggest score of $362,365.
