Jamie Kerstetter’s Early Life and Introduction To Poker

Born In 1983, in Monroe Township, New Jersey, Jamie Kerstetter was a big sports fan and loved playing football and running track in high school. However, her hobby changed after she graduated with a double major in English and Psychology from Rutgers University. Kerstetter then studied law and earned a degree from the University of Michigan. 

She worked as a tax attorney, a job she despised. While working, she was introduced to poker and began playing it recreationally. Initially, Kerstetter focused on playing live cash games, as they were fast-paced and quick. She could have become a top-class lawyer but she eventually chose poker rooms over courtrooms and the decision seems to have paid off so well for her. She left her job and started playing cash games and online tournaments in 2009. 

Kerstetter got another job as an attorney, which she left after a year, realizing that she enjoyed making money more at poker tables than in an office. So, she continued playing poker and there has been no looking back.

Jamie Kerstetter’s Poker Career Highlights

Jamie Kerstetter has made a name both as a cash game player and tournament player. In online poker, her online tournament winnings were reported to be over $800k in 2021. 

In live poker, she got her first cash in 2009 when she made a money finish in the $500 NLH Foox Woods Poker Classic for $909. The same year, she ran deep in the World Series of Poker $1,000 Ladies Championship and finished 20th for $9,116. Her best cash of 2009 was when she finished 8th in the $2,500 NLH Summer Showdown Championship Event for a whopping $20,685.

In 2010, Kerstetter scored her first live poker victory, winning the $340 NLH Megastack event in New Years Classic, collecting $5,338. That year, she also final-tabled PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $1,100 NLH Ladies Event, collecting $5,740 for a 5th place finish. A year later, in the Summer of 2011, the female pro scored three money finishes in the 42nd WSOP, including a money finish in the $10k WSOP Main Event for $21,395. 

In 2012, Kerstetter won the DeepStack Extravaganza $500 Omaha Hi/Lo and earned an impressive $26,530. She also finished 12th in the 2012 WPT Borgata Poker Open $3,500 Main Event for a whopping $44,937. Jamie Kerstetter continued her live poker performance, but it wasn’t recently that she cemented her position as one of the best female tournament players. 

In 2022, Kerstetter won her career first World Series of Poker Circuit ring in WSOP Circuit Online Event #9: $320 NLH Doublestack, adding $19,872 to her earnings. A few weeks later, she triumphed in WSOP Online Super Circuit: $215 NLH Deep Turbo online for $14,232 payday. The poker commentator didn’t stop there and went on to run deep in the 53rd World Series of Poker, she finished 2nd in Event #55: $1,000 NLH Tag Team, collecting $45,736. 

Two years later, Kerstetter again came close to her first gold bracelet in WSOP 2024, however, she couldn’t get past the 2nd place collecting career-defining live cash of $114,479 in the 55th Annual WSOP Event #71: $1,000 NLH Ladies Championship. Kerstetter started 2025 with a 4th place finish in the $1,100 NLH MSPT Main Event, adding $31,422 to her earnings,

Kerstetter mostly prefers playing the WSOP, and most of her live earnings have come from her cash finishes from  the WSOP. She has cashed in 219 WSOP events, earning a total of $782,868 from WSOP tournaments. 

Jamie Kerstetter’s Personal and Professional Life

Jamie Kerstetter keeps her personal life private but she doesn’t shy away from showing her love for animals, especially her love for dogs. In addition to playing poker at the table, Kerstetter also works in the commentary booth, giving her valuable insights and analysis in poker tournaments. 

She worked as a commentator for ESPN’s World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour coverage. Kerstetter also co-hosted Run It Once Poker’s “The Rake” Podcast, where she claimed that Daniel Negreanu tried to hinder her broadcasting career by asking Networks to not use her.  She appeared on TV poker shows like ‘Friday Night Poker’ and ‘Poker Night In America’. She is also a social media influencer with over 40.3K followers as of January 2025. 

Kerstetter, who worked as ambassador for partypoker between 2013 and 2015, currently serves as the marketing manager at ClubWPTGold—the World Poker Tour’s newest sweep coin-based poker site. She also enjoys sharing her fun opinions on X/Twitter, which is why she was nominated for the Global Poker Awards’ Bext X/Twitter Personality. 

Jamie Kerstetter’s Net Worth

There aren’t any official reports on Kerstetter’s net worth, however, in her work as a poker player, commentator, host for live events, and the marketing manager of ClubWPTGold along with endorsements, she must have accumulated over a net worth of a million dollars or more. 

Since her first live cash in 2009, Kerstetter has cashed in almost 300 live poker tournaments, and over 280 online tournaments. From her live cashes, she has earned a total live tournament earnings of $983,378.
